Very disappointing. Calamari was good, but it went downhill from there. Orangine (otherwise known as rice balls) were burned and tasteless. The eggplant in the Eggplant Parmesan was over cooked. Penne Arabiata was OK but nothing to write home about. Waiter was very junior. Will not go back.

Wow, under new ownership and Bar Management. Had the Pasta Forno, it was incredible. Meal and salad was beautifully presented and service was superior which matches any high end restaurant. Mike (Bartender and Manager) incredibly professional and his bar tending skills and knowledge was impeccable. A definite customer they have in me.

Terrible dining experience! As beautiful as the presentation of my meal was the food was not hot, there was a burnt taste to my dish, and above all, no seasoning; on my food or any other dish at the table. Quite suprising for an Italian restaurant! I had to send my food back and order another meal, which was equally subpar. The resturant was extremely hard to find. I had to call to get exact directions. On a Friday night, there were 8 people in the entire establishment, making for an awkward dining environment. I have never been so dissatisfied with a dinner outing. The best part of my experience was my glass of wine and the mint at the end. Absolute waste of $43. I would NEVER recommend this restaurant to anyone! Highly disappointing.

Finally good Italian in Frederick!. DH and I are huge fans of good Italian food. Alas, our favorite place near home is long gone and we found ourselves having to go to Montgomery County, or Little Italy for good food. On a whim, we decided to try Mistero. Great idea. The place has a cozy, rustic atmosphere. I was hankering for a nice bowl of pasta and a good salad. I ordered the Penne Arrabiata and arugula salad. Perfect. The sauce was just spicy enough, with fresh basil and tomatoes. Great light summer dish. The salad had pignoli, red roasted peppers and shaved parm. Just right. Not too tangy, not sweet. DH had the fried calamari. There is an art to preparing calamari so that it’s not chewy. The chef has it down pat. The sauces that were served with it were a perfect compliment. For dinner, he had the veal with crab and angel hair pasta. Sweet, creamy, and comfort food to a T. There is something on the menu for everyone, from the traditional lasagne and spaghetti and meatballs to pizza, to something more out of the ordinary. Our pick for Italian in Frederick.

Simply superb! Slow start for a Saturday night but staff quickly tightened their shot group. Cream crab soup was excellent! Eggplant and pizza, our entrees were excellent. Key – they have grappa and grappa glasses – a rare occurrence indeed! Well worth a visit!
