Note that Nido’s changed ownership in July 2014. New owners have refreshed the decor and upgraded the menu and wine list while keeping customer favorite menu items.

Wow! (Not in a good way). This place screams mediocre, slow service, inconsistent decor, boring food. Antipasto appetizer was a few giant cuts of tomatoes, carrots and beats with a few slices of salami on top, main courses were veal parmesan and lasagna, veal was not bad, tender enough, lasagna was quite bland, the meat in it had no flavor, the only flavor to it came from the sauce, which itself was also pretty bland. Bread (Which was clearly not freshly made) and frozen packets of butter were brought out to our table after the main course was already delivered. Wait staff very inattentive, though we were there almost an hour and a half, we never had our drinks refilled, it also took 30 minutes after having finished our meal for the waitress to acknowledge us (It was very clear that we had finished, plates pushed aside, glasses empty), normally dessert would be offered, apparently not at this place, it was as if we weren’t there, finally the waiter came over and at least did apologize for taking so long to get back to us, but at this point it was kind of late as we were ready to pay and get out of there. The worst part of it all is they weren’t even busy, the place was almost empty, so I can’t imagine this place was just having a bad night when we visited. One last thing that seemed very odd was that they had brick floors with very heavy metal chairs, moving the chair at all to sit down or get up made a huge racket that echoed throughout the entire room, certainly not a huge deal, but with everything else it just seems that this place doesn’t care very much about the dining experience that their customers are receiving, I will not be going back.

White pizza appetizer. Go just for the white pizza appetizer! The cheese and spice is phenomenal. And their alfredo – yes, heart attack on a plate – is my favorite without compare. Creamy and cheesy! Guilty pleasure!

Possibly worst overall restaurant in Frederick. Shrimp that were served had spoiled and when returned seemed to be of little surprise. Meals were well overpriced for entrees. Not only was shrimp bad but 4 medium sized shrimp in a dish hardly qualifies this for even making the seafood portion of the menu. Difficult to believe that they remain in business

Yummy!. Great staff…so friendly! Loved the baked ziti with mushrooms and you can’t go wrong with their fettucine alfredo or the white pizza. I’ve never been disappointed at this restaurant.

Wonderful Alfredo!. This place is so amazing! I cannot rave enough about the alfredo sauce. It’s a cute restaurant in downtown, feels very authentic.

Solid Choice. Nothing amazing, just a solid Italian restaurant. Good prices. Nice pizza. Starter salads were very mediocre. A good fallback but don’t go for a special nite out.
