  Like being back in Europe again. As soon as we stepped through the door, we were back in Europe again. Thank goodness we just had a large lunch before coming to this bakery or we would have bought one of everything. As it was, we bought nine different tarts and the calamata olive bread. We served the bread with olive oil and salt at dinner and the tarts for dessert that night at a dinner party and they were a big hit. We also served bread for breakfast the next morning. Awesome slathered with butter and topped soft scrambled eggs.The bakery has a few small tables and a tiny coffee bar if you want to have a snack there. However, when I asked to use the restroom, they said they did not have one. After spending $30+, you’d think they let us use the restroom! Poor form to say the least!!!

  Great local bakery!. Years ago, my mother surprised me with a birthday cake (lemon cake with raspberry filling and a butter cream frosting) from this bakery- I was immediately hooked! In recent years my favorite is the rum cake. Unfortunately, I don’t live in Frederick anymore to take advantage of this local gem on a daily basis. Whenever I’m in town I like to pick up fresh rolls or loaves of bread, which are great for making sandwiches!

  Wonderful bakery. Wonderful baked goods made fresh daily. I just wish they were open later in the evenings.
