This was our first visit to Bonefish Grill and we came away less than impressed. Of our party of four, three of us thought the signature bang bang shrimp dish with the creole mayo sauce was rather nasty. They hand out chopsticks for the bang bang shrimp, not sure what that is all about, is this the Bonefish Chinese Grill? The Blackened Baja Fish Tacos were completely mediocre and the fish did not taste one bit like any kind of blackened fish I have ever had and I have eaten blackened fish dishes everywhere from New Orleans to NYC. I’m convinced it was broiled fish. Lobster was decent but the butter didn’t arrive until after my daughter had finished the lobster. We also ordered the bang bang shrimp tacos, but after gagging on the bang bang shrimp appetizer we couldn’t even begin to eat the tacos. The fries were meh and didn’t have much flavor at all. We also had the Maryland crabcakes and they were perfectly eatable, no issues there, but we’ve had better. The only other decent items were the garlic mashed potatos and the appetizer bread. Oh and the water was crisp and clean. We left with the feeling that we could get seafood at least as good or even better at your average Ruby Tuesday or TGI Fridays. Our only solace from this experience was quickly running to Cold Stone creamery for some ice cream to finish off our meal and wash away the taste of the bang bang sauce.

Eh…. The blueberry martini was great, I really wanted to try the pineapple one, but the server said it was gross, to try the mango one instead. It didn’t taste like mango, but lots of cheap orange liquor. Gross. The server was pretty rude to most of the table. The bang shrimp was ok, but the remoulade was plain. Mayonaissey, not in a good way. The mussels were really great. I had the parm/pecan crusted rainbow trout, which was ok, but nothing to write home about. Neither were the sides of garbanzo beans or garlic whipped potatoes. Really unimpressive taters.
Slipping. Well, I had my second visit to Bonefish Grill after a few years and ended up changing my vote to Don’t Like. Service was pretty poor and inattentive, and the food was just ok. No longer worth the visit.
