Had a very nice lunch. Bartender was very attentive and did a nice job. Kitchen could provide a better presentation and more dressing on salad. Much better than last visit. Will consider returning now.
I dined at Copper Canyon with several co-workers while in DC. Hotel staff recommended It and they were absolutely right! We sat on the patio, and though we had a large party, our server Dan was very attentive. The crabcakes were among the best I’ve had in Maryland, however I would avoid the watermelon sangria: much too sweet. One of my co-workers is a very picky eater and they were able to accommodate everything she wanted. Two thumbs!
The best food at Rio Mall. Love our waitress Natasha!
Good food, insane prices. Having lived near the washingtonian center for a number of years and walked by Copper Canyon my wife and I have always been curious about it but never had a good reason to go in. This weekend the mood finally struck us to give it a shot. The service was great. Our server kept our fountain drinks refreshed without asking and helped us with our choices. My wife had the rotisserie chicken and I had the chicken and ribs combo. A substitution for a fresh veggie from the menu cold slaw was not a problem on mine. The rotisserie rub was great, if a little heavy on the salt and the chicken was done perfectly, moist meat and slightly crispy skin. The ribs were smokey and also well prepared, releasing the bones from the meat with just a little wiggle. The vegetables that came with our respective meals were likewise excellent. My wife and I are of a shared opinion that the mash potatoes involve whole milk or possibly cream and the asparagus that I ordered was probably grilled and perfectly prepared. The desserts are huge, so we shared one. A key lime pie that looks like a quarter of a regular pie topped with home-made wiped cream. The key lime was great, well prepared and with a good balance between the sweetness of the custard and the citrus of the key lime. The only shocker here was the price tag. Two meals, fountain drinks and a dessert came in near $70 with tip. Having sampled just about everything else in the Washingtonian, I can say that, without gracing the bar, this is the only place possible to rack up that kind of a bill on a dinner for two. And while the food is good, I’m really not sure that it is worth that kind of coin.
Salt Lick. The food was so salty I couldn’t eat most of it. The place has great potential, but they need to go WAY easier on the salt. The only part of the meal that was wholly edible was the corn bread.
Get the crabcake sandwich with shoestring fries. Best crabcake in suburbia — and I’m a Maryland resident!
Normaly I would not like a chain but this location has a great manager. Remembered me and the wife on walking and and let us special order a dish we love. Big props for great service!
