If You call ahead for take out…A rude man answers and will argue with You while he could be taking Your order. Asked to speak with someone else and THAT Lady was just as rude. Never saw anything like it. Asked for chicken noodle soup for it comes with the meal and wanted to order extra.. they said they might not have enough. It comes with All meals.. it was the beginning of the evening.. how did they run out.. The lady told me to come and place my take out order there.. and that it may take 45 till it would be ready after I order it there.. Hello that’s why I am calling aheadThey just do not want to be bothered.Not sure why they even answer the phone.I gave up trying to place an order not worth the stress and rudeness was incredible.
Hen House as Wedding Venue. My finace and I went to the Hen House in October of 2013 to look at it as a potential wedding venue for August of 2014. We instantly fell in love. We spoke to the man who I believe is the owner and told him exactly what we would like to use. (The pond and pavilion). We tried to put money down and he advised us that they didnt want to keep track of it and they would take it the day before the event. He told me to e-mail his wife with more information since she deals with the booking of events. I did so the following week and told her the same things we had told him. She said that was fine and that they had put us down in the books. She said she would get with us after the first of the year (2014) to get our menu and the other details figured out. We were very excited, this place is beautiful. Around mid/late January, I received an e-mailed saying that they had a large event scheduled for the day after and that our wedding would have to be moved inside to a room that was not large enough for our party. We called since this was sent through e-mail and wanted to actually speak to them. When my mother in law called, the same man we spoke to before advised that his daughter was getting married the day after. He told my mother in law that he didn t even think we were serious because they have young kids that come in there all the time. (Even though we had booked the date and kept in touch with them). He then said that if we could guarantee 200 people then we could still have it outside. He said that him and and his wife were letting everyone know now, so there must be other people that got their plans changed. My mother in law asked him what he would do if we were doing this to his daughter and he had nothing to say. When my mother in law told him that we felt like our wedding got pushed aside, he had nothing to say. I can say much on their food, but their customer service is awful. We were forced to find a new wedding venue less than 1 year before our wedding, 4 months after we had already booked our first venue.

Food is food. Best to sit on porch outdoors in good weather.
Foodmaven. A group of us went to the Hen House for dinner. It was one of the best dining out experiences. The food was excellent and contrary to the previous the food was hot. The appetizers were excellent and as part of the main menu choices you received soup. The soup on this occasion was noodle soup and the noodles were homemade ones. The waitress was the best. Not once did our glasses become empty before she came around with refills. She continually asked if there was anything we needed.. Job well done! Our group did not think the prices were out of line and were very reasonable for the all the food we had and we definably did not leave hungry. A very enjoyable evening. I recommend The Hen House West to those wanting good home cooked food and plenty of it.
Cold cold cold. Cold Atmosphere, Cold Staff, Cold Food. Way overpriced for the qualty of the food! It was like eating yesterdays leftovers
