Love this place. Gyro’s here are the absolute best in the area. Stuffed with delicious lamb and beef taziki sauce is delicious. Comes with onions and tomatoes, I like to add lettuce and cheese sometimes. The onion rings are tasty as well as the fries, they are like thick-cut boardwalk fries. I recommend this place for sure.

Too bad it’s not Alekos to sit. This would be the place to come, sit and enjoy with friends as there are many menu options to taste and share. Standing as a drive-thru island, it is an oasis for good Greek food in the area. I ALWAYS ORDER:SHISH KA BOB on a stick, marinated chicken breast with vegis. If you want pita consider the wrap but I don’t know how it will be ‘dressed’.WRAPPED GYRO, the meat is shaved thick (probably from the prefab Kronos cone) but is grilled for crispy edges with the familiar tasty spice blend. It is SO loaded with meat, order the tzatziki sauce on the side as it overflows the pita! The T sauce may be made with sour cream not yogurt but is still good.SPANAKOPITA, spinach/feta in buttered layers of phyllo pastry, for me it could use a little more feta but is still good.HAVE ORDERED TO TRY:LOKANIKO, sliced Greek sausage akin to a thin Polish sausage, sprinkled with feta, served with 4 pita chips. Although tasty this dish was meant to share, not for one to make a meal of.TIROPITA, compare to spanakopita without the spinach. For me it was too bland.Since I make an 80 mile roundtrip from WV I always order the Greek options but have also tried:CHILI, very good with maybe a Greek spin on the spices, cinnamon?GRILLED HALF SMOKE, if Alekos wasn’t so far away I’d order this again but I make the trek for the Greek options.FILET OF FISH, on my last visit a friend tagged along and ordered this which they advertise as 3X larger than the clowns. It overflowed the large seeded soft bun that didn’t hold up. Comes with cheese and a tartar sauce that is not typical. Maybe had mustard as it was yellow. My friend said he’d order it with lettuce to protect the bun and mayo instead of tartar NEXT TIME.The last two items come with a pickle and chips which can be upgraded to fries for a few pennies more. You can ask for their car window sticker, I hear it may give you discounts or free-b’s but you’ll have to check it out, I don’t have one.My only complaint is Alekos uses a lot of plastic and stryo containers and there are other options.
I’ve driven by this place so many times & finally stopped in today. Ordered a traditional gyro & was not disappointed at all. It was huge & fabulously delicious! Will definitely go back to try the spanokopita. The only negative I can think of is that there isn’t a place inside to sit & eat so I had to wait until I got home to eat.
Good subs. We’ve only been twice. The first time, we got gyros and spanakoptia. The gyros, while huge, were a bit overloaded with tzaziki sauce and the spanakopita was just okay. However, the last time we got some non-Greek items–the porterhouse steak & cheese sub and a meatball sub. Both were fabulous (especially the steak)! I suggest avoiding the Greek items and stick with the subs. (They have good sweet tea, too.)
Surprise!. A Greek drive-thru? In Hagerstown? I was just as surprised, and HAPPY. Pulled up to the very modern/new drive thru and ordered a gyro, drink, and a spanikopita just to have a few things to taste. Glad I did since both eats were quite good. The gyro was excellent, hefty with sliced lamb that had been finished on the grill for crispy edges. The tzatziki/yogurt sauce was just the right mix of tangy/cool.The spanikopita was packed with spinach and feta and on the right side of the buttery v. greasy line. And huge. Three people would each get a good taste of this monster.I’l be back for souvlaki and other sandwiches in the near future.
