I’m hoping it’s just the result of being recently opened, but the experience was underwhelming to say the very least. The wait staff was slow and inefficient, the hostess was inattentive, and the food was mediocre at best. I do have to say that the brisket was excellent. Juicy, tender, cooked and seasoned perfectly. That’s where the good ends however. For $15 I got about 3 forkfuls of brisket, a small bowl of slaw, and a small garden salad. If the portions were reasonable it would have been a great meal, but I left very hungry and ended up going elsewhere to finish eating. Just sad! The rest of the food my family had was horrible! The ribs were so dry that you needed a whole glass of water to wash down each rib (and if course it took forever to get the water). The chicken, in the chicken Caesar salad was equally dry and, while the salad was of decent size, the amount of chicken it contained was appallingly little (perhaps a blessing in disguise since it was so dry). All of the entrees were expensive, and based on what you actually received I would say exorbitantly expensive. All in all I would stay away from the Pit. Maybe they will fix the issues, maybe not, but I won’t be back anytime soon to find out. I suggest (and I can’t believe I’m saying this) that if you want BBQ you go to Famous Dave’s or Chilis if you want ribs.
