This restaurant has a great wine selection and each tasting wine I had was amazing. The wait staff was knowledgeable and very professional. Of course the cheese and meat platter was awesome. My husband couldn’t stop raving about how good his lamb chops were and my unexpectedly amazing watermelon salad was the perfect portion. This is definitely a restaurant we will return to.
A real wine bar. I think what most of the bad review here have in common is that these people should have gone to Pairing in Bel Air. Anyone who expects a 7.00 glass of Chardonnay to be something other than disappointing is in for a long wait no matter where they go. If all you’ve ever had is from Boordy Vineyards you may be tempted to think of any place serving smaller portions and wine as a wine bar. A Tappas menu does not a wine bar make. The Vineyard appears to be a real wine bar, with upwards of 80 wines to choose from and a decent sized wine shop (meaning its much bigger than the shelves in the hallway leading to the restrooms at Pairings). The Vineyard is quiet, not blindingly bright (we’re not performing surgery, Pairings) the wait staff is attentive and knowledgable. Against my better judgment I’ll give Pairings another shot after they expand, but in the meantime The Vineyard in Havre de Grace and Red, Red Wine Bar in Annapolis (too far for me) are the only real ones I’ve seen.

Simply Wonderful. While I was making a purchase from a local health food store my boyfriend wandered down the street. He looked at the Vineyard menu and told me we had to eat there. We had an incredible lunch – all the ingredients were fresh and the taste combinations were marvelous. We also experienced top notch attentive, friendly service from both the gentleman behind the bar and our waiter. We cannot wait to go back and try the Vineyard for dinner. We have even discussed having our rehearsal dinner there. (news to them!) Oh and another plus they had Buckler NA beer!
A great place for any occasion. The Vineyard Wiine Bar has become one of our favorite places in the mid-atlantic region. Since out first visit to Havre de Grace in 2009 we have been back time after time. The food and service are consistently excellent. We have visited many places from Boston to Virginia Beach in our travels and this is one we always look for and try to get to whenever we can. The food is outstanding and affordable, as are the many wine selections. Joe and the rest of the staff are knowledgeable, outgoing, and more than willing to spend time to get to know you, your preferences and palate, and to recommend items they think fit your taste. One of the things that make this place unique is the offering of half pours so that you can try out something that is new and different without a big risk. The bottle store is amazing – we have found wines (if you like port try their Monestrell!) there that in taste and quality cannot be matched for the price anywhere else. If you are local sign up for their 6 for 60 monthly special. It does not matter whether you are a wine buff or just starting out – the staff are more than willing to take the time to discuss the selections and get you something that you can enjoy. It is popular so it does get crowded Thursday thru Sunday so make reservations unless you plan to stop bye after 830 or so. For a nice cozy and romantic spot, try to get the love seat in the Lounge in front of the fireplace. The Vineyard is handicapped and wheelchair accesible. Can’t say enough about it.
Owner is rude. My 1st and last experience at the vineyard wine bar in havre de grace md.was terrible. a friend and I have regular lunch dates and we decided on this rude hole in the wall. we went outside to smoke and the owner literally grabbed our wine glasses out of our hands and proceeded to read us the riot act. upon further conversation, he informed us that there was an enclosed area in the back that was open in the summer for dining and smoking…needless to say we walked around the building (which is not big at all) and we could have jumped that fence or simply stepped over it.the owner never offered to allow us to use this back area to smoke and enjoy our conversation and wine. instead, he just maintained his obnoxious rudeness. I was in the restaurant business for over 30 years and have never ever been treated and humiliated so badly.the friend that I was with serves in the U.S. Army, and my son is in the Air Force. that is not an excuse, but it is a lesson to be learned by the owner of this establishment when you treat people like crap just because of the way they dress…I do think this was what he was looking at…shame on him. when my friend and I go out to lunch it is nothing to drop $150 on lunch…he needs to learn to have a little more respect for his customers, even tho I am a firm believer that the customer is NOT always right
We had a splendid time on the back patio of the Vineyard Wine Bar. We were especially impressed with the tempo at which we dined. The server took each course order after the previous one was finished, but we did not wait am unreasonable time for our food. We will be returning.
