Servers seem more intent to hang out in the corner then refill a drink. I had to flag the bar tender to get drinks and a clean fork
Delicious food, original barbecue sauces, and great live music :-). We started coming here right after Smokin’ Hot took over this space from C.J.’s. It’s just around the corner from home. We stop nearly every Friday on our way home from the gym, plus occasional weeknights and weekends, and here’s why: delicious, fresh food; fabulous, original barbecue sauces; great live music in an intimate setting; and delightful owners. Brett regularly stops by the tables to chat, and check on the customers’ satisfaction. The customers include regular visitors from the neighborhood, families from the nearby HoCo sports fields, and barbecue and music aficianados. For this quiet little corner of western Howard County, it’s our hidden treasure. The dress is casual (it’s barbecue, folks :-D) and there’s dine in and take-out. We are not related to or previously acquainted with the owners, but have become big fans. My only complaint is that they don’t package the barbecue sauces for sale. Seriously, delicious!
Gone downhill. Was here last year and the food was pretty good. The owners were cooking in the kitchen and their sister was running the bar. I came back twice and my food was atrocious. My meat was dry and the mashed potatoes tasted sour. Next I tried the beef bbq sandwich and it was way too saucy. It was so wet that it soaked the bun. I asked for the owners but was told they don’t come in till after four by an obviously stoned waiter. This place was much better before and has slipped with age. Would have been better off at the subway.I was back yesterady for dinner it was great so ill change my review from bad to inconsistant
Solid BBQ Joint. Fantastic smoked meats with 9+ homestyle sauces available so you can flavor to your heart’s desire. Friendly staff.Worth the drive, if not local to you.
Great surprise. Love the live music on the weekends in the bar! ribs are good, hamburgers good, fried mac n cheese good too! Its all made in the kitchen and not just frozen food. good prices and drinks too
GET THE RIBS. I keep going in with the intent to order something different. but I keep getting the ribs. My favorite. Dry rub, great bark, well spiced but the meat flavor is not buried.Their sauces are special. The BBQ chicken and the wings are also great, so my family says. I’ll stick to the ribs and beer. Oh, the sweet potato fries rulle, too.
Delish with a capital D!. I have found my new favorite restaurant in Western Howard County! I had lunch with my co-workers on Friday and am so happy we decided to go to Smokin’ Hot. I got the Big Garden Salad with oil and vinegar, and the grilled salmon on top. I have to say that the piece of salmon was so fantastically cooked that I would happily go there to get more anytime I get a salmon craving – it was the best salmon I have ever had. Here’s hoping my co-workers and I can find another time to venture in to this fantastic establisment!
