Over priced and over cooked. The baked beans are horrible and the pulled chicken is OLD and tough. Never again!
Pulled Pork, enough said. I’m the first to admit, the Canopy’s pit beef isn’t the best, heck it’s not even on my top 5 pit beef places. Their turkey sandwiches and fries are ok, but what keeps me going back to this little place, time and time again, to the point where the employees know my order by heart when they see me, is the Pulled Pork sandwich. I’ve had many a Pulled Pork sandwich, with numerous different styles and favors, but no Pulled Pork sandwich ever resonated with my taste buds as memorably as the Canopy’s. I can’t really explain why, maybe it’s just my preferred taste, but I must say, it’s the best Pulled Pork sandwich I’ve ever had, and I’ve never been anywhere that even comes close to tasting the way Canopy does it. Hell, if they ever need a hiring hand, I wouldn’t recommend me as their employee, cause I’d either eat all their Pulled Pork, or find a way to steal the recipe. Every time I’m back in good old MD, I never cease to stop by and grab a Pulled Pork sandwich or two from Canopy, I’ve even been known to eat one everyday when I visit, that’s how delicious and unique this Pulled Pork sandwich is, the diamond in the rouge of all Pulled Pork sandwiches, a one of a kind specialty.
This is my favorite place to grab a quick bite to eat. Meal is always prepared in less than 3 minutes and it is delicious. I am addicted to their pit beef sandwiches.
Great Place. This is the place for pit beef as far as I am concerned. Their french fries are probably the best fries I’ve ever had. I make it a point to go there at least once a month.
Amazing crab soup!!!. The canopy has the best crab soup for your buck! I live in Baltimore, but every now and then I make a trip to Ellicot City JUST to get some Canopy crab soup!!!
Very good food, but price guide is wrong. This place is pricey! If that’s not an issue, you won’t be disappointed.
Average Pit Beef. Nice looking place, the staff is friendly and enthusiastic. Their large pit beef sandwich is about $1 more than most places on the east side, with less meat to boot. Their horseradish is very mild, even though they have tiger sauce as well. The meat is fine, kind of what you expect as far as taste and tenderness for pit beef. I am used to being able to pick at 6 – 12 slices of beef, try them plain and with the sauces offered. Then, still have a nice sized sandwich left. In this case, I had a nice sized sandwich as long as I did not pick at it. Their bbq sauces are fine, your typical sweet tomato based with a bite and a variant with some extra vinegar but otherwise the same sauce. No where around to actually sit and eat, inside or out. For the west side maybe there isn’t as much pit beef or bbq competition so Canopy fills a void.
