COLD chicken.. I ordered the half chicken and the mash potatoes on the side. Lets start with the chicken. I have never gotten a cold chicken until today. Unbelievable. I mean are you serious?
Pleasant surprise. Was working a job in town and figured I’d try this place. The aroma that hits when you enter is intoxicating. Asked an employee what he suggested and he said the pit beef. I’m not a huge pit beef fan. There are other types of BBQ I go out of my way for, but not pit beef. However, this one was exceptional. The char was perfect, the meat moist and tender, and the suggested tiger sauce went perfect. It was on the higher side of what I want to pay for a sandwich, but the portion was big and the taste was superb. I’ll be going there again when I’m in town, and may even have to go out of my way to hit this place up again.
Worth the trip…. After rolling into Baltimore from North Carolina, we were excited when our friends took us to their neighborhood take-out joint, The Canopy, for our first-ever pit beef sandwiches. We were not disappointed! Amazing meat – mine was perfectly medium rare- piled high on super-soft rolls. Loved the Tiger Sauce and big, honkin’ bag of french fries that wept through the paper like a melting sack of butter.
