Like it but like others better. I’ve eaten here several times because it’s very close. However, the sushi does not seem consistent. Sometimes it’s good and other times not as good. Right now both Sushi Sono and J&Y (Eldersburg) come before Yama in my list of sushi places. The decor is quite amazing though and worth a trip to check it out.

Great sushi and ultra friendly staff.

Hidden Gem. The food is wonderful both sushi and hibachi. The staff is excellent. They are always adding new rolls to their menu. Ambiance is great, especially considering it is located in a plaza.

Attractive, attentive service, tasty. Liked this very much. Decor is attractive and modern. Staff is very attentive and willing to tailor your meal to your preferences and can suggest what items you might like. I had a side of edamame and it was great. The rolls were tasty, just as good as Sushi King. Very attractive presentations on the plate. Small, but a Tatami section is available for slightly larger parties. Not as attractive a date location as Sushi Sono but a lovely little local gem.

Wasn’t impressed. Unlike the poster before me, my colleagues and myself did not enjoy our experience. We actually thought it was quite pricey and the quality was certainly no where near that of Sushi King and Sushi Sano. If we were to spend the same amount of money, we’d rather Sushi King and Sushi Sano, both of which possess better quality, service, and definitely atmosphere.

Located in Dorsey Search Village Center, we just went to Yama Sushi for the first time for lunch. the staff are friendly and helpful, and we were quickly seated. The interior of Yama Sushi is clean, a modern style and pleasant. The sushi is extremely well presented and decorated, with details I have not seen at other Columbia sushi restaurants. The sushi is fresh and carefully made, and the portions are large. I’m usually still hungry after a sushi lunch special at most places, but was satisfied with this portion. The server was attentive, refilling my soda before it was empty. The owner was at the restaurant, checking with customers to make sure they were happy. We loved Yama Sushi and plan to return soon. You will not be disappointed.
