Nice atmosphere. The atmosphere was nice and the server Stephan was great. I had heard good things about the food in Fallston. My scampi was good and my husband enjoyed the veal Oscar. One warning do NOT order clams casino (if you like clams casino). Looked like they scraped out the actual fresh clam (maybe for a pasta dish?) and then filled the empty shell with a horrible and chewy mixture of canned clams and peppers and breadcrumbs. Really wasn’t a great start to the meal but they kindly removed it from our check. I would suggest to the chef to take that off the menu.
WONDERFUL RESTAURANT. Basta Pasta is a great place for everyone to enjoy. The food is excellent, prices are very reasonable and you get unlimited salad and bread! Also, they offer a couple of weekly specials: Monday-kids eat free, Tuesday- Crabcake night, and Wednesday-1/2 price bottles of wine. Be sure to stop by for a great meal!
The food was delicious! The bartender Ruth was amazing! A great place to dine and feel welcome!
Fallston is better. Ingredients are fresher at Fallston. Not sure if it was the owner or manager who copped an attitude. The gentleman was balding, wore glasses and spoke with an accent. Told us the recipies were the same, said sorry we didn’t enjoy the meal, shrugged his shoulders and walked away. Never go back again. Sauce had no taste and the breading on thE eggplant wasn’t crispy and had little taste.24 Mar, 2012Fallston is better. Ingredients are fresher at Fallston. Farewell dinner for Afghanistan son. Tonight was my first visit . The food & service were excellent! I would defiantly return & recommend to my family & friends. My son’s have been often & really like it.
Skip this one.. Husband wanted to go for a couple of years. NOT worth the wait. Early dinner and only one in dining room. We were seated next to waiter station and we interrupted and had to move out of the way of waiters the entire time. Waiter refilled my drink with the wrong drink. Ordered crab dip appetizer which was more a cream cheese appetizer with crab and mayo. Salad was so heavily dressed it was not palatable. Lasagna was great as were the bread sticks. Chicken Joann has moist chicken and crisp veggies but the sauce left a lot to be desired. Rooms are dim with lights out and music was a bit loud but that could be because there was no other diners. Save your money.
Better than average Italian-American in the County. The place is like an upscale, local version of the Olive Garden (unlimited salad and breadsticks) with better quality food (and prices to match). Breadsticks were the thick soft variety, buttered and garlicked; salad was like a Greek version (no feta). Vegetables in the pastas and on the side were treated with respect, sauteed tender-crisp. Some pastas are homemade, like the lasagna; dense and substantially sized. The Veal Saltimboca was a nice version, especially on a bed a jeweled green sauteed spinach, tart-winey lemon sauce to balance the rich veal and mozzarella and salty slice of prosciutto. They’re working out of the old Steak ‘n’ Ale, so the rooms are tiny alcoves designed to hold a party of 4-6, with one main dining room. Intimate kind of place, brightened with a paint job and some ersatz Etruscan decor. Prices are def higher than what you would normally pay at your average Italian-American joint, but higher quality of food and execution seems to come with the deal.
