We came for dinner at 6:30pm on a Monday. No greeting at the door and since it was our first visit we did not know which direction to go. Someone saw us puzzled and came to seat us. The service was great. Pizza came out quickly, and was hot! Veggies were also fresh…so appreciated! Crust is thin and cheese and sauce minimal, so be aware. No appetizers on the menu??? Overall I would return and would recommend 🙂
Dark. Coal Fire has a reletively small dining area that is fairly dark in the Hunt Valley shopping center right on the promenade. We ordered a pizza and an order of wings. The wings are not hot wings but more of a wing fried in onions. I didn’t like them. The pizza is brick oven baked pizza with a thin crust. Where the pizza went wrong for me is the exceptionally sweet sauce. Our server noted that the sauce has a hint of honey. It’s easily the sweetest sauce I have ever had. Besides being sweet, the sauce is lava hot I think because the pizza has a lot of sauce it stay very hot for a long time. I don’t like a lot of sauce and I sure don’t like the sauce so sweet. While the location is great and the atmosphere is nice, I would pass on another meal at Coal Fire.
