The location is very visible along York Rd and is close to the MD state fairgrounds. We have been here 3 random times and they are never really busy. They have stiff competition for locals as they are very close to Hightopps grill and The Still. The food is bbq fare: ribs, brisket, chicken, sausage, picnic sides, etc. The corn bread is amazing if you like it sweet. The bread pudding is huge and should be shared. Again, it is sweet, but so good!! They have a large bar and tvs throughout the restaurant. Servers are friendly and some more attentive than others. Booths are pretty tight, so be aware if you have a more abundant waistline! We would recommend and will return.

Corporate BBQ in a corporate park. (11/14/2014) Have had Famous Dave’s several times before in other locations (and other states). It’s on the York service road up a hill that leads to the Tile Shop and the La-Z Boy store, had a hell of time trying to navigate to it. We were there at around 8:00 pm on a Friday night with dry weather and the place was near empty (although, we still had to wait 15 minutes for a table (someone explain that one to me). The lack of turned over tables should’ve tipped us off. Most other Famous Dave’s are on major thoroughfares in the midst of box store central, just ripe with the right kind of suburban dwelling lemmings. This one is seriously lacking location, location, location. It also seems like it’s run by a renegade group of teenage girls, braces, hiphuggers, verbal diarrhea (as our server self-proclaimed) and all. Hostesses were ditzy, server was efficient and attentive, if unprofessional.Got a Feast for Two, and it was enormous ‘Murican-sized portions, probably could feed a family of 6 in any other given country. On the hubcap: Texas Beef Brisket (dry, overdone, nice rub), which came on a slice of white bread; 1/2 a roasted chicken, wan and pale flabby skin, but moist and flavorful meat; 1/3 rack Ribs, in a sticky sweet sauce; 4 chunks of corn on the cob from frozen and overboiled; 2 cupcake-like corn muffins; Wilbur Beans very spicy, likely made with their Wilbur’s Revenge BBQ sauce which obviously has habaneros in it; coleslaw was decent; Famous Fries were battered and extra crispy, but ours oversalted. Best of the 4 BBQ sauces we tried was the Devil’s Spit, good flavors, not sweet and decent kick. I wouldn’t call myself a chile-head, but I’m no slouch to heat. Wilbur’s Revenge was mostly habanero which drowned out most flavors of anything. The other two were pretty forgettable, overly sweet and no spicing to speak of, more like dressed up ketchup. Place reminds me of dining in Disney World, some ersatz recreated corporate experience that may or may not be based on a lie, but a calculated perception. I think there are several fine rib places nearby that are locally owned if you’re looking for a fix, that’s probably where we’re headed.
