Standard IHOP with great service!. The food is nothing to write home about. If you’ve been to an IHOP in the US, the food will taste the same here…so at least they are consistent. The restaurant is small, as most are, but they turn over tables fast. The staff is friendly…especially the weekday morning ladies. They keep the regulars coming back!! The location is excellent, as they are right on the corner of York and Cranbrook. Parking is tough when they are busy, but they are connected to a strip mall, so the lot extends pretty far. The exterior just had a new coat of paint in late 2012, so it does look much nicer from the road :)Best secret…they are open on Thanksgiving and Christmas. Crazy, but we found this out 2 years ago and have enjoyed a good holiday breakfast while the dinner was in the oven more than once!
Low-priced mediocre chain-place breakfast. (11/05/2011) IHOP serves pretty much mediocre food all around. Breakfast for dinner is the big draw. They’re still pretty solid if you’re a pancake person; for all else, they’re mediocre at best. Chicken Fried Steak is an overbreaded, overfired, thin piece of chewy meat with a gluey white gravy (not much flavor, think like pudding). Pot Roast Melt (sandwich) was tender enough; whole thing was like a grilled cheese with stewed meat inside, benefitted from several splashes of Cholula. Side salad was from a standard bagged iceberg mix; leaves were a little brown on all the edges, dressing was a packet of Ken’s. IHOP, as a chain, could be much better, it’s pretty standard food prep, they just need to up the quality a little. The service at this particular IHOP is usually done by kids (maybe high school-aged), friendly and earnest.
I like IHOP, but not this one. It smells weird and it’s run down.
Always went when the local bars closed on Friday night during my third shift lunch break to eat good food and watch the drunks. Never had a bad breakfast there.
How do you mess up IHOP? This is such an efficient place! Awesome for people watching!
