Great great atmosphere. We enjoyed sitting outside next to the stream, although the road can be noisy. Inside is a little rustic. Nice smoke smell outside, and good counter service. They have a very small menu. But apparently there are combos and variations that you need to ask for. We got the smoked sausage and the pit beef. Nice large portions sliced as you watch and piled on a nice soft Kaiser. The hot sauce is nice and they have horseradish instead of tiger sauce. The bbq sauce was a little sweet, but not bad. The sausage was juicy and had a good snap to the skin, and a flavour somewhat like kielbasa. The beef was ok – there were a couple of gristly tough parts, but besides that it was good meat. I am not in love with their smoke. It lent an acrid smokiness to the meat. Doesn’t look like they use hickory or some other acceptable wood. I saw stacks of various kinds of what looked like kindling with the bark still on it. Nice smokey flavour, but with some bitterness to it. Suggest they watch out for gristle and take the bark off their wood. Also make a detailed menu. Don’t tell me I can get cheese – add it as a choice. I’ll probably go back and give them another try. Andy Nelson is still the gold standard, for now.
Jake’s grill is amazing. Smokin grills out front, humble interior, great guys and amazing food. You can tell they put a lot of love into the Bbq, getting it done right. It’s a far drive for us but well worth the trip. We always leave with smiles for hours.

Great food! Large portions!. Unlike many of the other pit beef shacks I’ve stopped at where the beef is lost in the bun, the bun is lost in the beef at Jakes! Extremely friendly and helpful staff as well, I am sure to return soon!
Amazeballs!!!!. The food here is amazing, I’m a country girl and I know great eatin’ … I had the ribs and the pit chicken sandwich… all I can say is AMAZING!!!! Holy AMAZEBALLS!!!!
