Tacos. 3 ala carte tacos
Such high hopes for a much needed authentic restaurant.. This place just opened this year and we have looked forward to trying it for months. So, we finally did last night and were very disappointed! This place is way too small and way too loud! The parking lot is tiny and very hard to maneuver. Bar patrons are too close to the dining room and are to loud and obnoxious! The waiting area is tiny and the outer waiting room is not heated and you WILL freeze to death. So, if there is a wait in the winter you should just leave!! The wait staff was pleasant and the food was affordable. However, the plates must sit under heat lamps because everything was a bit dry and lukewarm inside. Disappointing for a new restaurant in the area! Will not be returning.
Racial Decrimantion. We went for lunch at La Tolteca. We ordered veg. food what we had last time. The food was not the same as last time. I think their recipe is not standard. I think it depends upon the chiefs mood. We were charged for ordering spicy. No restaurant would charge for spicy food. When we asked about why we were charged for extra spicy, the waiter told us next time DO NOT COME to our restaurant! This is pure racial discrimination.
Service and food were too good.. I got the Chimichangas, and a Taco Salad that were great. I will return.
Great dining experience. Four of us met for dinner. Our waiter was attentive and very efficient. We had a wonderful meal and did not feel pressured when we wanted to hang out a while longer after dinner and talk. The restaurant was filled to capacity but the service was quick and we never had to look for our waiter. All of us said that we would go back again!
Horrible!. The worst! Not just the worst Mexican food I have had in Baltimore but possibly on of the worst dining experiences ever. Granted they recently opened but beyond the serious kitchen issues the staff was at best disinterested. I walked in and weighted because the hostess was on the phone and the other hostess couldn’t be bothered while she spoke to a bus boy. We waited 35 minutes for our food which after such a lengthy delayed came wrong. No offer to give us extra chips or anything as we sat twiddling our thumbs. I ordered the Street Taco Platter and asked for a combination of the tacos but was told no substitutions we allowed. I asked for a minute to pick something else and our waiter acted very put out. Having a lactose intolerance I explained this and requested no cheese, etc. on my food. I ordered the grilled shrimp with spanish rice and guacamole. What came over a half hour later was covered in sour cream. I explained I can’t eat that but was told they could only remake it if they charged me for another full meal. I said no cheese and dairy but I didn’t say no sour cream – Seriously?! Believe it or not that wasn’t the worst – some of the shrimp were RAW – that is dangerous and inexcusable.
We really enjoyed eating here. It’s typical Mexican food. Nothing special but a welcome reception in an area seriously lacking anything like it or better. A lot of food for the money. The kitchen seems to run fairly slow but it’s new so we gave them the benefit of the doubt. Highly anticipated it’s opening – was not disappointed.
