Love the store, you can check out their offerings at the Market Cafe. (01/22/2011) You know how they tell you not to go grocery shopping while you’re hungry? Sometimes we make an event out of heading out Wegman’s for groceries. It’s like the Disney World of Food. They have weigh places like salad, Asian food, hot food bars, and made-to-order places like pizza, sushi, deli subs. Basically, if they sell it in the store, they’ve prepped it for you to eat in the Cafe. Kind of ingenious, like making you pay for store samples, then hooking you (so you can go over to Aisle 7 and buy that bag of frozen Wegman’s gyoza or mini-samosas for your next dinner party). The quality is what you would expect from a Wegman’s (high), and the prices pretty much match (beforewarned, food weighs more than you think).
Excellent food clean and a lot of choices
Dangerous :). Wegman’s is always very busy and full of gawkers, but for good reason. The quality standards here are high, so pretty much anything you get is going to be good. The breads, the desserts, the cheeses…everything is excellent. Just be careful, because you can spend a lot of money pretty quickly by staying in the marketplace section! I really like the cheese counter; the people there are friendly and helpful, and there is usually an excellent selection. There are good grocery deals to be found. The meat packs can be a steal, and produce sales can also be excellent.
