Mixed bag at best. Been here twice. once for breakfast with a good omelet, toast and cup of their finest. all and all, fair value and pretty good food. popped in yesterday for a quick bite from the bakery case…a chocolate mousse slice. expensive at $4.25, but hey! immediately knew it was old, but proceeded to take another bite when between the layers there was widespread mold. disgusting! I requested and was given a full refund by a less than concerned/apologetic counter clerk who didn’t seem too surprised. Fortunately there’s a CVS a couple doors down where I bought a small bottle of mouthwash. I will not return (Donut King..not CVS) CVS is fine! And yes on the derelicts haunting the Donut Shop…they don’t bother nor cost extra, but are a tad odd.
Poor Customer Service. The woman (Owner??) who stands behind the coffee/cookie counter has always been unfriendly and is often rude. She treats customers like she is doing them a favor by getting their coffee or cookies. Whatever you do, don’t ask her for more cream or sweetener. She will get it for you, but she will do so shaking her head in protest. The other staff is fine, but they are busy doing all the work on the grill and the register. The old lady just stands there and frowns at people. There is also a strange element of derelict-looking-elder-folks who hang out there all day, stinking up place with cigarette smoke that wafts in from their perch directly outside the front door. They have been gathering there for years and they tend to stare at patrons making them feel uncomfortable.
