Not Consistent. I used to work in the Town Center and would eat at Al Carbon at least once a week for lunch. A true hole in the wall that I would otherwise avoid. I haven’t been in about 6 months though because the food was becoming more and more inconsistent. I would order the same thing, a burrito, but would always have different ingredients and different levels of satisfaction. The staff is great and friendly even if English isn’t their first language. I’d like to go back again soon but I’m just not ready to be disappointed again.
If I hadn’t read about it I wouldn’t have entered the building. My wife and I decided to give it a shot. We both ordered two things. A bagel (w/bacon) and 2 cheese pupusas for my wife. The desayuno tpico (typical breakfast) and arepas (shredded beef) for me. We both only received the second item we ordered. We were only charged for what we got, but rather than risk offense left somewhat satisfied rather than full. The pupusas were delicious (better than the arepas) and slightly larger for less than half the price! The arepas were somewhat dry/crumbly, but still pretty good. If you’re thinking about going here my advice is to give it a shot, but keep your order extremely simple unless you or someone with you knows Spanish.

Amazing Venezuelan food across from Rockville Metro. This is my favorite restaurant in Rockville. Just across the street from the Rockville Metro on Park Rd, this place is great for casual lunches or romantic dinners–and won’t break the piggy bank. For under $10 per person you can have a fabulous steak lunch or tapas dinner. For a bit more you can have a dinner feast, complete with the best sangria in the DC area. Weekend brunch is the best around–and for under $20 per couple.Don’t let the simple exterior fool you. Once inside the decor is charming and lovely, even with outdoor patio seating perfect for a warm summer evening.
