My family and I stopped in yesterday and had a wonderful meal. The owner, Mr. Gomes, was charming, kind, and most generous with his knowledge of his fabulous dishes. I highly recommend this restaurant, and it is a shame it is not in the greatest location (It is behind the IHOP, which if that was gone would make it a little easier to find), but the deliciousness of the dishes far outweighs any slight inconvenience of the location. You’ve got to try this place!
Top Notch. The food is outstanding. I have ate the Chicken Curry, Butter Chicken, Chick Pea Curry, Butter Chicken and the Naan Bread. They have not disappointed. All of it is outstanding. Staff is great people! Highly recommended. We live in Southern Virginia and anytime we come to town we stop here.
Excellent Indian Food. We ordered some take out food tonight from Om. I would like to thank Louis (I think he is the restaurant owner) for the delicious food, for being very courteous and patient as we hesitated on the choice of dishes, for his excellent advice and for some side dishes which he offered for free to welcome us to his restaurant. What a breath of fresh air to deal with someone who understands the restaurant business very well and for whom the customer satisfaction is a paramount objective. The chicken tikka masala, the lamb and other dishes were just perfect – freshly made, very well seasoned and so tasty! We are very happy that we discovered this authentic Indian gem in our neighborhood. Thank you Louis for our fantastic culinary experience. We will certainly be back and will recommend your restaurant to our friends and family. Anna
Enjoyable dining. A close by restaurant had a long line, so we decided to just try OM and the evening turned into something very special. We had three different entres served family style, and each was perfectly seasoned and presented hot and perfectly cooked. The Puri was delicious. Service was kind and attentive and the prices were reasonable. We will be back!
Recent improvements noted!. We have been eating at the Om Fine Indian Cuisine restaurant (formerly Indian Grille) for many years, as our regular Friday Nite Dinner Club venue following TM group meditation. The vegetarian dishes are fresh and well-prepared, spiced to American taste but readily changed to suit. The buffet has been recently retired, the decor refreshed, and the menu upgraded by a well-regarded chef and new kitchen staff, Pricing remains affordable. The staff is professional and willingly accommodates requests for special seating, especially for birthday celebrations. The veranda is our favorite in good weather.
We decided to go with the buffet. The food was fresh and enjoyable. The restaurant states they make everything fresh, I believe them. They have great Poppadom which I liked even more than the very good fresh Naan. The service really stood out. Constant attention and cheerful staff. A very clean environment is also a plus. I would have liked to have spicier dishes, all of the offerings varied from mild to medium.
Only on emergency. I did visit couple of times..mainly because dinner buffet, but the food selections are limited compared to other lunch buffet..Meat dishes, mainly beef curry and some yoghurt was on the verge of spoilt. Priced around $12 for buffet.I prefer Minerva lunch buffet (excellent veg and non veg dishes) as well as Madras Palace (only veg. food)
