SNAILS IN THE FOOD. THere are Snails in the food! I have a photo I took today. The restaurant owners were SO RUDE about it too. I hate this restaurant now. I used to like eating here but it was Disgusting to see that. I have a photo of it.
Pho 95, Rockville. My husband and I confess to be ‘phonatics’, and I write this w/sadness in my heart, but we had what we think was the worst service experience of our lives tonight at Pho 75 in Rockville. We calculate that in the past 3 years, we’ve eaten lunch or dinner there a couple of hundred times. We schlep from Bethesda because we felt it was the best pho in the area. Tonight, we ordered crispy spring rolls to go w/our usual pho chin. We had the young waiter we’ve had hundreds of times before (he’s never very nice, so as usual, we just smiled & shined it on)–the pho was worth it, we always figured. Not tonight. The spring rolls came, and they were cold and seemed as if they’d been fried hours before. We found out when we took a bite. My husband gently and kindly told the same waiter, who told us we’d have to wait for them to be warmed up (of course!), and we said no problem. He came back 5 minutes later w/the spring rolls–nothing had been done–cold and old. We figured we’d tell the woman at the cash register who’s always there and has seen us hundreds of times what had happened, and we’d like to have their $3 price deducted. My husband explained. She went to our table and yelled at us that we’d taken a bite out of them and started to make a scene. We were horrified and so upset, so just paid and left. We won’t be back. I don’t exaggerate when I say we’ve eaten there a couple of hundred times–we put up w/the funky decor, kind of dirtiesh environment–all for the wonderful pho. But the waiter and this woman crossed the line, so we’ll be going to Pho 95, Pho Nom Nom, and a few other places close-by, and at least not getting treated inexcusably.
Cash Only. After a long day my girlfriend and I decided to have some Pho so made our way to this well recommended restaurant. Unfortunately we did not have any cash on us so we could not dine here. We were not interested in going to the 7-11 near by and paying $3 or more in ATM fees to get cash. Other than that, the place had a great aroma and we will consider trying them again when we are better prepared.
Still my standard. I tried Pho 75 on the recommendation of my sister about 12 years ago. It was the first time I had ever had pho, and I loved it. Since then I’ve been all over the country, including the Vietnamese neighborhoods around Salt Lake City, and I have yet to find any place that tops Pho 75. The whole package is just right – there are no weak points in the ingredients, and they give you total flexibility in ‘assembly’ of your soup to your taste.
Deserves all Stars. Great cheap eat for local employees and students alike. I take all my friends here for lunch and they become addicted. My favorite is the #1 with raw beef on top that cooks while you twirl your noodle but friends that aren’t as brave tend to order the soup with just beef in it rather than its other parts. (Forgot the name for it!) The pink jello is delicious for a complement or desert. The fresh coconut drink is also good for those that like a little sweet but not too sweet. In my opinion, this place is better than the Pho on Shady Grove. Washingtonian should have given this place full stars. Just remember this place is cash only. If you forget, there is a 7 Eleven next door.
Delicious best pho I’ve had in a while
