Good food, bad cheese. Coming from Texas, we have set a high bar for tex mex. The entrees were good but the queso was horrible. It’s as if they opened a can of cheese they use for concession stands and added some cheese whiz to it. Aside from the non-cheese queso, it was good food but we probably won’t come back.
We love their fish entrees. The tilapia is cooked to perfection; the seafood enchiladas tasty, the salmon is scrumptious. If you want some flan after your meal, skip it. My husband usually split a flan after dinner, but what we had last night was awful. The texture was more like jello than custard, and it was tasteless. The sauce was certainly not caramel…did I say the flan was terrible? If you want flan, go down the street and get it at the Mango Grill. Forget the flan!
A very good value. I found this place after much frustration trying to find a decent place to hold club meetings midway between Baltmore and DC. Several people recommended this place. I wasn’t disappointed. In the past year or so the quality of the food became terribly inconsistent, but I’ll continue to return to any place that does not actually make me ill, and much of the time this place is pretty good.Let me put it another way. There are three Mexican restaurants I particularly like, and while this is lowest on that list of three, it is still on that list. The other two are the La Palapa of Ellicott City MD, and the LaPaz in Frederick MD.
Not as good as one would hope. Little to much money for not that good of food or service. But then again it is Tex-Mex, not Mexican.
THE BEST TEX MEX. For authentic tex mex Tampico is the place. Great for families, with menu items for those who do not eat mexican food. They are a family run local business. The prices are reasonable and the food is great! Come sit and enjoy the people you are with. You will not be rushed and can truly enjoy your meal. The chips and salsa keep coming. Worth the trip to Laurel.
Theresa obviously has the wrong place because I’ve going there for 6 years now and never seen a 10$ margarita. Her story doesn’t make sense. Anyways the food is amazing and if you haven’t had it and live in laurel you really have been missing out.
I don’t know what Theresa is taking about but, I love Tampicos! The food is always deliciously fresh! Margaritas are pretty cheap, and the salsa is amazing!! Must check it out!
