Food is good, don’t take her personally. Ichiban has great food. I’ve been eating there since they opened. Yes, the woman at the register can be a bit rough, but that’s just her manner. She’s great if you talk to her even a little bit. Don’t take it so personally, smile and laugh with her and you’ll see for yourself. Then enjoy the eating!
I went on a Sunday afternoon to try this restaurant out after passing it by many times. After ordering shrimp fried rice and egg rolls (a pretty safe choice in my opinion), I wish I had kept going! The container smelled like rotten seafood as soon as I opened it and the egg rolls were greasy and gross!
Rudeeeeeeeeee. The owner is absolutely horrible.horrible.she refused to take off our dish order that didnt taste good. she told us it was our fault we ordered something we didnt know tasted bad.dont go here. the food sucks too.
Shamless Slander of Ichiban. I am also an African American with many children and grandchildren. I am also picky about the food served in the Columbia area. I find that most of the food served is processed and not fresh, but at Ichiban you can always find fresh, tasty and a wide variety of delicious meals. Jess, the cooks, and yes..the little old lady (as some of you call her) is as gentle as she can be. She has told me many times that because of her mannerism and loud voice, people think the worse of her. She always remembers her customers and gets to know the family. Perhaps her Asian manner is not acceptable to the America manner; however, decency between people and just talking and trying to underst each other goes a long way. I LOVE THEIR FOOD…AND THE PLACE, the customer service and atmosphere. Make no mistake about it, this is the place to go. If you won’t go, I will take my 9 children and 17 grandchildren–they absolutely love the food and company! KUDOS Ichiban Cafe—-
Awful customer service, lying in their policies and most rude owner aside with food that has gotten worse and worse. I’ve been ordering and buying from there before but they have the worse customer service and they lie! They say delivery is $15 minimum but when you order they make the excuse that drinks are not included even though nowhere ut says that in the policy. Ironically on the same day I order similar cost and the brought it to me. I called again and the old asian lady was rude and disrespectful. This place has gotten worse with time and people should not sponsor it since the food even taste worse! If I could I give them zero iut of 5!
Love it!!. I really like this place. I have been going there since it opened, but have never dined in. I know the lady can be a little brash but its really her personality combined with the fact that we, as Americans are fussy about ppl being polite when you pay them to provide a service. She is really sweet though, she knows everyone in my family (including my bratty 3 yr old!!). And she even wished my hubby a happy belated birthday, as she remembered the day I came to pick up an order and when she asked about him, I told her he was home and this was partof his birthday meal. I really like the food. In my opinion it’s the best in Columbia!!
Lunch specials. I ordered a Chicken Lo-Mein lunch special and was very disappointed. It was like 80% fried rice and 20% lo mein. Fried rice costs them extremely little. Sure they give you a soda but I’d rather get more lo mein.
