Fishing for Lunch. A group of 8 of us were seated at noon on a Wed, just as the place was getting busy. The orders were taken with a minimum of fuss, and everything was delivered promptly. Two of us enjoyed the Fish and Chips meal, and I found the Fat Tire (IPA) to be cold and quite tastey.
I actually like the salads and chicken sandwiches better than the burgers. To me the burgers are only ok.
Solid Burger Option. Pretty good option for burgers, especially for a chain. Great selection of burgers and other items. I got a $7.75 Natural Burger. I ordered mine medium but found it more medium-well. Still, it had a nice char on the outside and great beefy flavor. It was very juicy yet didn’t strike me as super heavy. Veggies were fresh, and the cornmeal jalapeno bun had a nice hint of sweetness and earthiness. I like the selection of topics and buns and the variety of other choices. Tons of kids and families, but whatever. They do good food and that’s what counts.
A little pricey, but service compensates. Seven of us (three adults, two teenagers, two younger children, no alcohol) ate here this evening, and although the meal was a touch pricey ($104 for five burgers, one salad, one salmon burger, one onion ring appetizer and non alcoholic drinks), the service was superb. Our server, Alex, was friendly, helpful and attentive without hovering, refilling drinks before being asked, bringing extra napkins when it looked as we might need them, and in general demonstrating what a good server in a family restaurant should do. On the way out I asked for the manager to compliment him.Everything sort of feels like it’s a buck or two more than it should be, but the service more than made up for it. My only complaint is that the AC was cranked, and it was freezing. Still, we’ll go back again, and I’d make sure to ask for Alex.
