We stumbled across this adorable brewery last week while staying on Deep Creek. The place is decorated perfectly for a mountain side pub! We loved the brews and the food! We did over order as our definition of a flatbread was much different than then huge pizzas that showed up – it took as a day but not one morsel of the margarita, rueben or white pizzas were wasted! Cheers!
Very disappointing dinner. The beer was gross. I had the cold trail ale…it tasted like wet bread. Our waitress was incredibly rude. She acted as if asking for water before we ordered the gross beer was really putting her out. She forgot our appetizer. She had no idea what else was on draft and told my husband to go look at the chalk board. Don’t you work in a BREW HOUSE??? My blt had soggy bacon. The other stuff we ordered was just ok. My husband gets all worked up if I ask to speak to management, so no chance for redemption.
AWESOME PIZZA. The brick oven cooked pizza was awesome and the beer was cold. Connor added to the experience with his great food recommendations and great pours! Slainte’
Lovely Pizza, Cute Place. From the outside, Mountain State Brewing Co. may not look particularly special, but it’s a great place, with lots of seating and space and interesting decor (lots of brick and wood). We enjoyed the Cold Trail ale, the IPA, and their stout, but found the amber ale a little weak/bitter.The pizza selection was great –some really unusual combinations to be had. The pizzas have a thin, wood-fired crust and are fairly small, so bear that in mind when ordering. Toppings all seemed to be fresh and of high quality. Everyone in our party was pleased with the quality of the food, from the 5 year old on up. Two of the pizzas ordered by our party were somehow screwed up by the kitchen, so we did have a longer wait, but our waiter was very apologetic, boxed the unlucky pizzas to go and, of course, removed them from the bill. The table next to us had the exact same thing happen, so I’m not sure what was going on, but it did make our wait for food a little longer than expected. Our waiter was very nice throughout, but as the place got busier, there wasn’t a lot of refill/drink service at the end of the meal. We’d definitely return, despite the service snafus.
Great food Great beer. The pizza there is amazing and the craft brews are also very good. I would of liked more of a selection but that is how all the Mtn. State brewing companies are. Mostly centered around they’re own craft beer. It can get kinda price as well, but well worth a night out in Deep Creek. The staff was very helpful and a joy to be around. Not to mention they hold a Homebrewers contest 2 times a year.
Decent pizza for a dive place!
Great place! Fantastic Fire Fly Farms goat cheese brick oven pizza. Great microbrews. Great service. Can’t wait to go back.
