Nice Corner Place. As far as small business goes this is a hole in the wall place that you just fall in love with upon entering the establishment. Every knows each other it seems like, the stories are amazing and the way the community sticks together is untouchable. The menu is a little limited but the heart and soul that goes into the food is like no other. Best breakfast you can find any morning of the week, well except Sundays. Kudos to this small business.
Old School Hot Dog Joint. This is the kind of place that needs to be supported to preserve the experience for future generations. It is definitely not a gourmet experience. On the other hand, it is a step back in time when you could get a really good chili dog, a decent burger, and a shake. Take your kids here and experience the 1950’s. Don’t over think it, just enjoy the guilty pleasure of eating really good chili dogs!
Looks can be deceiving. Went there because it was suggested by a friend. I was a little taken by the size and setup of the place but gave it a try anyway. We were sat in the back section because we had a pretty big party and when I asked for the menu was handed a piece of paper. Again I was a little disappointed with the limited options on the menu but settled for the cheeseburger. Well I was really surprised! That cheeseburger was the best I have ever had! And the best part was it was only $40 (including tip) for 3 adults and 3 children to eat!
Old. I would have to agree with the negative comments. been in Essex a long time 48 years. since the fire the changes have not helped . Last ate there was not my choice but the rig stopped and thats where we were. Quality and neighborhood feel are gone.
I see people saying the service is bad and the smokers are annoying but its a great place if you like the country it feels alittle like home and thefood is good, crowd is good when im there, its been open since the 40s if you dont like it then dont go but its great food
Not great. Smokers outside really are obnoxious if you dont smoke
Re: Coffman’s Snackbar. Hole in the wall with greasy spoon and lousy service, kids under your feet being rude and hot as hell in the middle of the summer. AVOID if at all possible
