Very Nice beet salad and Caesar salad to start then we enjoyed the trout and branzino. Nice wine too and good service. Unfortunately the noise level is really high since the restaurant is in an old house. Three of us were almost yelling at one another. This affects my dining options so I would consider a return but only at lunch.
Delicious. The fried green tomato with goat cheese appetizer is delicious! It alone was worth a visit to Addies. Also a big thumbs up for the creme brulee – perfect amount of carmelized sugar.
Eh, the food is good but after spending 40 dollars on my meal I shouldn’t still be hungry. The portions are a joke. There is a nice patio that allows dogs.
SF quality. I moved here from the culinary paradise of San Francisco, and I have to say: Addie’s was the first restaurant I found in the North Bethesda area that might compete with my happy memories. Excellent fish, delicious wine, and a wonderful patio in the summer.
If I wanted reheated food I would have brought a TV DInner. Addies on Rockville Pike is owned by Blacks Restaraunt Group. Their other restaraunts are great! Addies just simply isn’t. Forget that the restaraunt is loud and crowded, let me cut to the chase. We ordered a 1/2 bottle of wine. When it came out it was obvious that the wine was kept near an outside wall. As this was a red wine, it was WAY too cold. I should have sent the wine back. Next when our meal arrived (Steak) everything on the plate was cold. Since I prefer my meal hot, I sent it back. The waiter was mildly appologetic. When a meal came out about 5-10 minutes later (my fiance was almost done with her meal). It was obvious that they had simply reheated the meal. The steak was dreadfull. The service was not very good either (water glasses went empty, I had to remind them to bring me utensils when my meal returned etc). Skip Addies, there are plenty of other great places to eat in the Rockville Bethesda area.
Best Lunch in Rockville?. My girlfriend and I came here for lunch one afternoon. We almost shot past it coming up Rockville Pike–it is behind a beer-and-sandwich shack of sorts. Yet just from the bread they brought out we knew we were in for a treat. She ordered the BBQ Pork, and I the Oyster Po’ Boy. Hers was great, if a bit on the meaty side. Mine was excellent–fresh bread, tangy sauce (sort of a souped-up Bic Mac special sauce), well seasoned fry batter. The fries proved addictive, especially coupled with their slightly sweetened house ketchup. They really put care into everything they serve. Highly recommended.
Always a fave. Addie’s has been one of my favorite restaurants for years. I think it’s the high quality inventive food paired with the relaxed atmosphere. That and not having to go to Bethesda or DC for a nice meal out. They’ve gone through some changes and I still love it. Definitely better to get a reservation. Ask the wait staff questions, they’re very knowledgeable. Appetizer to try is the prosciutto wrapped mozzarella. Entrees change seasonally, however my fiance always orders the rib eye and it is always delicious.
