Felt like I was in Argentina!. As authentic as one could hope to get in the US, though oddly they close at 9, about the time most Argentinians head out for dinner. Seeing the diversity on the bilingual menu took me right back to school days in Argentina, but now easier for fellow guests to understand. Add this to the local gems of the greater DC area.
RUINED OUR NIGHT! Nightmarish service! Management couldn’t care less!!!. AWFUL EXPERIENCE! This place is an absolute mess. Service is chaotic. You arrive and may have to wait a while for some of the inexperienced waiters to decide which one of them has to go and greet you and bring you to a table. It appears as if management (too busy attending to the cash register) has forgotten to let them know. Once sited in one of their awfully close tables (no privacy here, and people are usually very loud) you have to be armed with a lot of patience because they will also periodically forget that you exist, Food portions also seem to be shrinking (we gave this place a few tries) and they are greasy fare, frankly unworthy of writing home about. NEVER AGAIN!!!
Che craving. The food and place are simple. Great place if you want to watch the game, eat a sandwich de milanesa, and have a Quilmes. The pastries and cappuccino are good too.
Value is the order of the day at this Argentine gem. The lunch time prices are great. $1.60 per empanada, $3.35 for slices of tortilla. Those prices come with a little drawback. The luncheon is cafeteria style rather than wait staff. The dinner is more typical but a little higher priced. The food is simple but well flavored and affordable. The wine list is tremendous. The ridiculously low priced Argentine wines are one of the best deals in town. I don’t know why more latin restaurants don’t do a better job of providing quality wine at a good price.Perhaps the best choice of all is to pick up a few dozen empanadas and whole tortilla and a couple of bottles of wine to take home at a tremendous price.
Casual, delicious, great ambassadors for Argentinian food. Empanadas are divine.
Digin on this little cafe. Nice music, nice outdoor area to chill .. food was good and a few foodie options!
El Patio is a MUST!. My family and I have eaten here a number of times. The food is wonderful, the restaurant is clean and the service is fast and friendly. The selection is quite good, but the Empanadas are my favorites. The dough is flaky and they are stuffed full. I also love the Lomito Sandwich. The pastries are all fresh baked and are wonderful! This is a MUST taste!
