Jewel of India – Usually Great. We’ve been to Jewel of India several times and have always had great food and excellent service, however, tonight was definitely a mixed bag. Two of the dishes were great, however, my 83-year-old mother ordered the lamb chops and they were inedible…tough and awful. So she sent them back and they gave her a new order, but after a 20+ minute wait, the second order was better, but still not good, dry and tough. Definitely not what you would expect for lamb chops. In addition, we ordered raita that never came. After all of this, no attempt was made to compensate our meal in anyway, not even an offer of free dessert (not that we would ever ask). Definitely not the treatment you would expect from a restaurant that normally excels in it’s friendly customer service. Sadly, we probably won’t be going here again.
EXCELLENT EVERYTHING. I can’t say enough good things about this restaurant. It was totally unplanned that my girlfriend and I would visit this particular restaurant, and we are really happy that we did.The service, the atmosphere, THE FOOD…MMMMM YUMMY!I have promised my family when they come for a visit that we will be dining at the Jewel of India, and my girlfriend and I will be visiting quite often.
Amazing place great food amazing ambiance ask for Augustine Gomes the best manager ever and Bajesh nangathio as you waiter best combo
Surprisingly pleasant ambience for a strip mall restaurant, and includes a full bar with a talented bartender. Staff are warm and attentive, and respond well when an issue comes up. Diverse menu includes good versions of some standards e.g., samosas, chicken tikka masala, chicken korma, saag paneer, and a good Tandoori selection. New family favorites we hadn’t seen elsewhere include the Malai chicken kabob and a vegetable korma (delish!). The yellow daal is a little bland, and our family misses the aloo gobi that is not on the menu. As is often the case with Indian dining, don’t plan for a quick meal, but if you have some time for a relaxing dinner, the Jewel is worth a try.
Extremely poor service. the food was really bad. We ordered the tandoori vegetable which was to be served with paneer. When the dish arrived, it came with a few things missing.. The paneer being one of them and taste being another. I notified the waiter and he told us… Is ir not there.. I’ll get it.. the manager came out saying that the chef just joined them today and didnt know what ingredients went in what dish HUH.. really… Anyway never coming back to this place. extremely overrated..
Tasty food and good service. Tasty dishes and good service. We are early dinners so that may affect the attentive service. The mixed grill was good but I expected more than one shrimp. Didn’t really care for the lamb but finished it so wasn’t bad. All in all a solid performance and we’ll be back.
Not group friendly. I went to the lunch buffet with a large group. We were charged $17 for the usually $9.95 buffet, and an 18% gratuity was added. Although the food and service were good, we felt cheated.
