You go to a diner for greezy bacon and hash browns, served by a 58 yr old woman named Darlene…not gluten free waffles and organic turkey sausage. There is a time and a place for health food, bellying-up at a diner is not one of those times. Also over-priced. Find a Denny’s.
I can see why this place is so popular. They serve their brunch, lunch and dinner menu at all times of the day which makes it so much better because you have so many options to chose from. Not to mention, their food is great. Their milkshakes are out of this world and I HIGHLY recommend you all to try the NUTELLA AND BANANA milkshake. The little chunks of banana were cold and firm (not mushy) which made it so much better and the Nutella was blended in so well with the banana. Trust me, even if you’re not a huge fan of bananas, you have to try this one. We also ordered their CHEESE FRIES with extra cheese and extra scallion and since you can’t go wrong with that, they were pretty damn good too. I ordered their CHICKEN AND WAFFLES which NOTE would have been so much better if the waffles didn’t have pecan in them. I don’t know how I missed that on the menu but that was the only thing I didn’t like about this place, or rather, about this dish and so I couldn’t finish the waffle. The chicken and the gravy was excellent though. Lastly, we ordered their CHOCOLATE CHIP PANCAKES which were fluffy, huge and so filling that my friend could only finish half and had the other half for dinner. All in all, would definitely visit this place again, try more milkshakes and possibly their other dishes, NOT their strange pecan waffles.
My son who is 5 years old wanted to eat dinner at the Silver Diner in Rockville, MD this evening. Even though it was a 20 minute wait it was worth the wait. A waiter named Anderson, I couldn’t have asked for a better waiter!!! He was pleasant and even though I am a young person with a child I wasn’t judged or mistreated in any way. Anderson was helpful and got me everything I needed. My son fell asleep in the restraunt and Anderson helped me carry my son’s food and milk to my car. He offered and I think that is the kindest and most thoughtful customer service I have ever received. Thank you Anderson! If you dine at the Silver Diner, request, if possible waiter Anderson. I think Anderson should receive recognition for his wonderful and generous customer service!!!
The Silver Diner is the best place to have a hearty brunch or a late night dinner. It’s amazing! You get everything you ever imagined plus excellent service. It is always one of the best places on the Pike to take your family or just take your friends 🙂
Great diner but diner quality too. Service staff is unorganized and a lot of standing around so shame on management. Service is ok. Sat twice at counter and felt I still had to flag down refills etc. food is ok and lots of choices. Good for family
Great place wonderful food
Cheesesteak was one of the best I’ve ever had. The flat iron steak was cooked to perfection. Great place to eat!
