Not cheap at all!!!! Three people 95 dollars?? I’ll never go back there ever again. Our table was filthy. The food is not horrible, but if you have ever gone to any of the places in downtown silver spring, then don’t waist your time with this place. Huge disappointment and wait till you get the bill. I have no clue how this place has such a good rating. I feel bad saying this but I feel very cheated.

Friendly, authentic, cheap. Ate here with four friends last night, and am seriously thinking about going back tonight with my family. Service was warm and friendly, and better than other Ethiopian restaurants I’ve tried in the Baltimore-Washington area. Tiny, not much decor, but for $20 each we stuffed ourselves (including two rounds of beer) and left a generous tip. Six sambusas, three meat entrees (kitfo, doro tibs and lamb tibs), plus six vegetables (two come with each meat dish) were more than enough for the five of us. A few minor quibbles: food was ordered spicy but was closer to medium, only one Ethiopian beer (and no honey wine) available, injera was good, not great. (Probably should have spent the extra $1.50 for teff injera.) Our server made excellent recommendations, the meal was well paced, and for $20 this was a great hole in the wall I’d visit again in a heartbeat.

Food- okay but service- horrible. First all, if you go for dinner understand that you will be there for at least two hours. It really hurts me to write this review (will tell you why at the bottom). The owner was wonderful and attentive to the needs of patrons. Our server was her daughter (very nice but forgetful and clueless). Twenty minutes after we ordered I asked the daughter about our drinks (water, honey wine and chai tea). The drinks came out thirty minutes after we ordered. Never got water we asked for. We ordered two Sambosa’s (appetizer-one chicken one beef). She brought the beef and never put in the order for the chicken. I told the owner and they brought it out when we were almost done with our food. For dinner we had a vegetarian and a beef dish. I was not crazy about the beef but our veggies were delish, We read about a special injera they offer called Terr so we ordered one. When the Terr bread did not come out with our dinner, we asked about it. Ten minutes later the daughter brought it out in little pieces (the owner said the daughter had a hard time heating it up). They brought out a new one a few minutes after we finished our dinner). Also, the homemade chai tea was delicious. The final straw was the check. The prices on the check were a lot higher than the menu. When asked the daughter said the restaurant menu had not been updated but the prices were on the carryout menu. Overall, I admire the owner/mom for starting a business that she is working really hard to improve. Unfortunately, the service was so bad we will not be back.

A delightful find. The food is delicious and the people couldn’t be nicer. Another in an eclectic set of restaurants in this short stretch of 198. Definitely worth a return trip.

Amazing! 5 stars. Ok so I love their food talk about DELISH. I tried ethiopian food once and didn’t like it but this place totally changed my mind. my friend dragged me there and i tried the doro tibs (sauteed chicken dish) it was a little spicy but sooooo good. i never knew ethiopin food was so gr8! what was i missing ?!?! they also have a very nice place, cool decorations nice atmosphere i loved it ! also the music was cool they said it was traditionale music which was awesome! when i went they had a coffee ceremony which a traditional woman was sitting and making coffee in little cups so cutee and fun i recommend the place

Friendly. Seems family owned and run. Sparse atmosphere. Portions on the small side compared to other well known resturants. Food tasty but on the bland side.
