Sooo disappointing…. This is not an authentic Thai restaurant! I ordered the Yum Nua and in my experience having eaten authentic Thai yum Nua from Thailand, this does not even come close to the real thing. It tastes like they use some spicy chili paste – as in what they use for Tom yum soup – to mix with this salad. GROSS! Not to mention the fact that when I asked for an extra lime, the server gave me lemon slices instead and told me they don’t have any limes. WHAT DOES THAT MEAN? How could it be possible that a Thai restaurant does not have any lime wedges. And finally I want to mention the rice portion, or lack there of. It is about as small of a portion that you will ever find from an Thai restaurant and they will not give you an extra rice for free if you ordered to go. To me, that is pretty cheap. This is the second time I have been here and even though this is the closest Thai restaurant to where I live, I will most certainly not be going back.
Excellent. Highly recommend this new down town SS restaurant. Food was great – probably the best Thai in the SS area. Service was also great which is unusual for the SS area. We tried Dunken Noodle, Panang Curry, and Spicy Eggplant.
Terrible food. Went there seeing the average 4 star rating on google. Food was terrible, ordered the lunch package, drunken flat chicken noodle, it was all dry and tastless. Tom Yum Soup was also bad, vegetable in the soup was cold. Tara Tai is 100 times better. We love the one in Bethesda, MD.
Yum!. My boyfriend and I went yesterday to Silver Spring and decided to try this place out. He had never had Thai before and it was my 2nd time. It’s a very small restaurant but it turned out to be a good thing, the wait staff are very attentive and we got there in time to be seated without a wait. He ordered rice with chicken and different kinds of fruit and I had Pad see ew and it was amazing….I highly reccomend this restaurant!
Wonderful Thai. The food here is terrific and much better than many other DC Thai restaurants. Simple no-frills atmosphere results in great prices and service. I recommend the catfish or the drunken noodles.
Thai Flavor is a great restaurant and a nice addition to silver spring.
Quite good. Some of the best tom yum gai I’ve ever had. Just be warned: if you specifically request a dish ‘spicy’…you may be hurting for a while.
