I’ve eaten at every stake house in DC, and this is the best. I almost hate to write this review – my fairly unknown place is now going to get packed. But good food and service deserves accolades. Enjoy.
Went there for mothers day and it was the worst service that I’ve had and I’ve been there plenty of time. Our streak was cooked wrong 4 different times. The easier keep filling MY glass and leaning over MY moms in law and she keep smelling his underarms. It was like the manager didn’t bother to care and by the time our good came out our sides were cold. It’s going to be a while before I come back here.
It’s a bit pricey, good steaks are worth the money
A little quirky but good. Though we do not eat steak often, my wife and I are true steak lovers. She had the filet and I had the NY strip. Both were cooked perfectly medium rare. The mashed potatoes were just a tad bit watery for my liking. The one thing I think needs to be improved is that the tables need to have table cloths or some way of preventing your plates from sliding around while cutting your steak. The stoneware plate just continued to slide around the smooth black tabletop causing a little frustration.
This was a learning experience. The other day my friends and I wanted a burger and heard that Ray’s the Classics was the place to go. We decided to eat at the bar. The food was ok – fries were soggy and salty. What my group was uncomfortable with was the amazingly poor service. The bartender made it clear that we were an inconvenience and we were lucky to get what service we did.Here’s the surprise. Later I found out from friends that the bartender was the manager of the restaurant! I guess they don’t want repeat business. My friends and I will not go back.
