Ugh. We were so excited to have some sushi in town. Tried this place 3-4 times and always disappointed. The sushi somehow doesn’t seem as fresh as it should. Underwhelemed. We either go to Frederick for Eldersburg for our Japanese fare. If it doesn’t go over, it’s not because Mount Airy didn’t yearn for Japanese, but hoped for better food.
Horrible!!!!!. We ate here back in April. One of the worse meals we have had in a long time. Both of our meals the food was cold, soupy, and tastless. Will not be back. The service was not good either, and waitress pretended to not understand when we complained about the food being cold.
Save Your Money. My wife and I along with another couple eat out once or twice a week and we are always down to try a new place. We ate here over the weekend and we were not impressed at all.Sushi was good, but expensive. We would come back for the sushi, but there are so many other choices around that have great sushi and cheaper prices, it might be a while before we return.As for the hibachi – forget it. We all ordered the shrimp, scallop and steak hibachi at close to $30 a plate. Everything was drenched in a teriyaki sauce, and nothing tasted fresh.
Dissapointed. Tried the Hibachi menu. Cold, bland, uninspiring and expensive.Not sure what others are eating to like this place.Will not try again.
Fairly priced for a great place to get sushi, especially for Mt Airy. Thank God some one brought some culture to an overly white, bland area.
Good but over priced. Mt Airy sushi shouldn’t be more expensive than better, NYC sushi.
Kantana Restaurant & Sushi Bar. We have been going for lunch or dinner almost weekly since the restaurant opened. The sushi is wonderful and we absolutely love the tempura. The tempura batter is light and the good is cooked to perfection. I could eat here daily, but my husband needs more variety. The prices are sightly high but the freshness of the food and the excellent service make up for this.
