Interesting new use for Naan!!. A friend recommended Krazi Kebab which, as it was described, has nothing to do with Kebabs but is more like a Chipotle on Naan. That was very accurate when we arrived – select the style of entree you want, wait for the Naan to be cooked and add fillings. I opted for ground beef, rice, vegetables, onions, chick-peas, salsa and tamarind. The Quesadilla Naan adds shredded cheese and is grilled after the fillings are added. Ordering is cafeteria-style and afterwards, one finds a seat in the surprisingly large dining room. Given the area, most businesses are fairly small, take-out only or standing room only establishments to having a seating area was a plus. The Quesadilla arrived fairly shortly after we were seated and the finished product was quite sizable. Fortunately the Naan is cut into 4 pieces and each can be held like an individual sandwich but the fillings will spill out. The taste was interesting – the ground beef and chick peas don’t have much flavor which isn’t surprising. The vegetables, onions and tamarind sauce add an exotic flavor that permeated the Naan. Next time, I’ll try the Spicy Chicken since that seems to be a more popular option. All told – at $7 and the enormous portion size, it’s well worth the money. Yes, it’s a college dive but just because it’s inexpensive doesn’t necessarily mean it’s bad. I’ll be back!!
