  Pricey, bad service, mediocre food. SoBe May pretend theyre on South Beach but still in Lanham, MD. Located in a strip mall with two strips and couple of fast food joints. Will not patronize again.

  I decided to write this review after reading some of the negative reviews about this Sobe Restaurant. I went on a Wednesday evening with two of my friends and we had a great time. The food was delicious ( a little pricey), the music was fabulous (a little too loud to enjoy a conversation) the waitress was very professional and personable. The ambience was outstanding. I was so well pleased with the food and the service, I shared my experience with my co workers. I will definitely be going back and will continue to recommend it. I would’ve given it a 5 except for the two thing I mentioned (pricey, too loud music)

  Worst experience ever. Made a reservation for 15 for Sunday brunch, after being advised to. The party was actually for 17 but 2 were questionable. Reservations coordinator told me to just make it for 15, because if the two didn’t show up, I’d still have to pay for them. Was told that if they showed up that they’d just be added on at the table. Then I had to put down a $350 reservation fee. I thought that was crazy and unheard of, but I reluctantly did it. I was celebrating my mom’s 66th birthday. So, we arrive at 2 pm for our 2 pm reservation and I tell the coordinator that 17 showed. He then told me, after HE recommended reserving for 15, that 2 of my party members would have to sit at the bar. I had to remind him of what we spoke of and actually had to see the manager whom went on to fix that issue. Then there was the wait. 1 hr 15 minutes to be exact. We were finally seated and now trying to enjoy the brunch. However, before I could even sit down with my food, I’m stopped by that coordinator again. He tells me that they could not find my $350. So I check my account, only to find that I’d been charged $869 by SOBE restaurant. At this point I’m furious and the experience for my family is ruined because they were concerned. The actual owner talks to me and says that she’s gonna fix the issue and comp some of the bill (about $600). After they finally got the over drafted money back on the card and after dealing with situation after situation for about 2 1/2 hours, I finally sit to eat something. This is when I notice that the food on the buffet is under cooked and that they are mixing old food with new food. Totally disgusted, I try to chill because of my family. I didn’t want to totally ruin the day. So now they still have my $350 and another bill for $255 is brought over. I am more than mad and offended, so after speaking, again , with the manager I ask for the owner. She tells me that she took 20% off of the bill. I feel totally dissatisfied and complain and let her know again how disappointed I am with the service and food. She says that she cannot take any more off of the bill because she has to replace the food and keep the lights on. No lie. I will never ever give this business another penny and will let the world know how they treat people.

  Wonderful evening on Saturday May 30.. My husband and I truly enjoyed the food, atmosphere, and drinks. Nice place. We were very surprised at the beautiful and classy decor.

  No Sobe for me. Sorry Sobe! The food and service wasn’t impressing. The atmosphere was nice, considering you are located in a strip mall. The drink was expense. They charge us 6% tax and 9% Liquor tax. My husband ordered a Margarita and I ordered a gin and tonic, they both were served in the same cognac glass. The lobster macaroni and cheese was dry, spinach was cold and fried scallops were tasteless. My husband steak was well done, when he clearly ask for medium well. We saw one waitress sipping on someone drink as she was walking to their table. Gross….Last but not least, having your IPOD in a chair next our table was rude. Especially coming over and changing songs….Really? You seem like you want to cater to the African American professional. Well you need to step it up. We deserve better. People don’t let the smooth look fool you.

  Happy food and drinks were good and at a decent price, but service was slow! Place was packed with two rentals!
