Usually when I come to grannys I get the chicken and waffles but tonight I decided to get the smothered pork chops. I think I will stick to my norm. Pork chops were a little tough and we’re far from smothered. More like drizzled in gravy. The portions are always great. I can never eat all my foid.
Great experience. After reading the mixed reviews my hubby and I were a little skeptical about Granny’s, but we decided to try It for ourselves. The experience was great. The food, service, and ambiance was superb. I ordered the peach wings EXCELLENT! My hubby who is a chef ordered the turkey, dressing, and cranberry sauce, yams, and collard greens. He ate everything on his plate including some of my wings. The drinks were nice, I had the apple martini and he had the bourbon. They were nice and potent. We had the peach cobbler for dessert. Our check was about $60.00 and well worth it. The jazz band was a great touch, but my hubby thought they were a little loud other than that, we had a great experience and can’t wait to visit again. Our server Brandon was polite and on point. Don’t go by the negative reviews try this place for yourself. Good luck and Granny’s get two thumbs up from us.
We ate at Granny’s for the first time on Fathers Day. Disappointed to find a limited menu, but it was a busy day. Sat in lounge area at countertop height table because I did not want to wait 45-60 minutes for a regular table. Service was great. Food…well just okay. Ordered half slab of ribs -great; fried pork chops-ok but lack flavor; collards- ok; Mac and cheese-disappointing…no zest, seasoning…simply Mac with cheese melted on top. Half/half was from a package. Ordered dessert but sent it back when it arrived. I ordered chocolate cake, but it looked like petite thin brownies. Cornbread ok but it was rationed to one small square per person. Overall 2.5 stars out of 5.
First time visit and I was so please, beautiful clean and food was wonderful, live band , I really enjoyed myself
Love!Love!Love!. This is something I have never ever done before but after my experience and Granny’s I just had too write a review. Let me start by saying I’d never heard of this place so this was a word of mouth recomadation from a friend. When I walk to the door, there was a gentlmen (doorman) that greeted me and open the door. I ambience was really nice and cozy, not to big but not small and decorated quite nicely but not overkill. The waitress was very pleasent, attentive and very knowlegable about the menue when asked about items on the menue. Once the food came everything and I do men everthing was perfect! I had crab cakes which were deliciously filled with real tender crab mean and you get 2 them and they were big enough that I could only eat one. The Mac and Cheese and the collard green was home cooked to perfection so much so that it reeeeeealy brought back memories of childhood sunday dinners. My husband had the smothered porkchops. OMG! Those thigs were so big, I was thinking there’s just no way they would be seasoned throughout or tender. Well, let me tell, they were the BOMB! and my husband whose a big guy and an even bigger eater could not touch the other one. Now there was a lady next to us who’d ordered chicken and walffles and she had the look of shock and so did I as the waiter brought her food. 4 nicely size chicken wings and as she started to eat, her eyes got that look of OMG this is delicious and that’s what she said once she was able to get her food down. we all laughed and share our critues of our dishes. After a few minute our waitress Amanda comes to our table with our to go trays and doggie bags and the bill without us having asked. Love Her! Then the topper, The manager comes over while we’re waiting to get our card back and ask how everything? We shared with him the great experience, he then ask if we had room for dessert and we gave him the, are you kidding me face? He said we have to try it even if we took it home but we had to let them present it to us. So we relented and bring the bill for the dessert when it comes. So I got the apple pie and my husband got the the pound cake. When It came to the table I almost fell out the chair because I am looking at a small personal apple pie topped with two scoops of Ice cream and It was OMG good! The pound came with four small slices topped with the house whipped cream, Yep! OMG Good. The bill for the dessert was 1 cent. SInce my husband had aready paid the bill for dinner I paid the dessert bill with a $30.00.
Grannys food was disgusting ! My best friend mentioned this place to me because of all the great reviews she seen on instagram and the great looking food…..the food just LOOKED good that’s about it….i ordered chicken and waffles with a side of macaroni and cheese and collard greens. The chicken was great but the waffles were soggy, the collard greens were just ok and the macaroni and cheese just had cheese sitting ON TOP of the macaroni……not all the way thru….i changed my side to potato salad and it was even worse then the macaroni ! I did not enjoy my meal the best part was the chicken and im mad it was $20 !!!! Never again
Enjoyed my Birthday lunch! Granny’s menu is Great! Food absolutely delicious and the services was the Best! I had, in a long time.
