I love there Chicken wings, Yams ,Greens I been there like five times and plan on going back today, and I was talking to this man I saw next door standing and I was telling him about those wings and I let him see mine and try one he I told my family (sisters) to go there and they called me telling me how they love your wings JNJ and now I am telling people where I live about you
Overall the food is pretty decent, however, the owner tends to raise the prices fairly often and cut the portion to be smaller. Like I said, the food is decent but not for the cost. Also, the customer service is terrible.
Excellent. From the outside, it’s a bit misleading. small eating area, nothing fancy, however, the food itself is really good. fairly priced. check it out. will not be disappointed.
I loved the dinner!!!!!!! The prices weren’t bad . Most definitely locked into my phone. I had chicken wing dinner ,cabbage, MAC and cheese (homemade),cornbread and banana cake .
Bland, very bland food. Also from the other reviews that I’ve read, the food contains MSG and I believe so because experienced a minor headache about 30-40 minutes after consumption. I do not reccomend AT ALL
Stuck here on Business – Finally good food!. Staying in Owings Mills on business I found JNJ Southern Kitchen and placed a huge order – well I was starving and I love soul food! The chicken breast was HUGE and breaded with corn meal jst right. It could use a little more seasoning but I will take under seasoned over too salty any day. OOoh the sides…… The collards- INSANE – large pieces greens with smoked turkey and NOT MUSHY! The string beans – JUST AS INSANE – seasoned just right with smoked mean and again, far from mushy! The collards and strings beans were cooked with the same/similar smoked meat but tasted totally different. The cole slaw – crunchy and colorful and seasoned enough with a hint of sweetness – termendous! Now I was disapppointed with the Mac ‘n Cheese it was too bland (elbow noodles used) but 3 outta 4 ain’t so bad. I will be back in 2 weeks and will be sure to order from this place again…stay tuned!
Decent food. My fiance and I decided to give this place a try. As we arrived we were slightly skeptical about what we’d decided to do but thought we would still give it a try. The restaurant is clean but slightly informal. I ordered whiting, collard greens and mac & cheese. My fiance had chicken wings, collard greens and mac & cheese. We both had half and halfs as our drinks. There weren’t any particular aromas that were in the restaurant to give us a clue as to what our food may taste like nor in the car during the ride home. We get home and eat. Wow are we surprised at how tasty the meal was. The mac & cheese was great although not made with traditional elbow macaroni noodles. The collard greens were good too, we both enjoyed the fish and chicken as well. Neither of us tried our cornbread, we were full faster than we thought we would be, but liked the half and halfs. Overall we are going to return to J N J Southern Kitchen. Our total meal cost about $34 and included two jumbo sized drinks and an extra side order of hush puppies (which my fiance enjoyed).
