Just avoid. I’ve never reviewed any place to eat before this one but it really stinks. I ordered a bagel sandwich for lunch and specified when I ordered ‘no tomato’. Once I had completed my order at the register I reiterated no tomato and the cashier read it back to me that way. When I sat down my food took a little while to make and when it was brought to me there was tomatoes on it. I calmly brought it back and it was returned to me about 15-20 seconds later. When I asked if he simply removed the tomato, he said yes. I kindly requested that they make it again and he complied. After waiting 7 minutes, they brought it out to me without cheese this time. I brought it back (again) and it was returned to me, not sliced in half and cold cheese on it. When I ate it, the bagel was decent but everything inside was subpar. If you are going to charge me 11.50 for a turkey sandwich and a drink, make it right. There simply has to be a place with better, cheaper food. I will never give this place my business again.
Turkey and Goat Cheese?. I went in expecting typical bagel shop fare, and boy was I surprised. Instead of getting a bagel sandwich, I wound up with a turkey and goat cheese panini with mango chutney. Totally delicious. They told me that the chips that came with it were made there. I believe them since they were hot on the plate. I took a bite of my son’s bagel, and it was great also. Place was crowded, and we had to wait for a seat, but it was worth it.
Disappointing at best…. This is my first time ever writing a review. If you ask any of my friends, I am the first one to gush over a great restaurant experience–unfortunately, Quarry Bagel will not be offered as a recommendation…EVER! To begin, I actually like their bagels- but would rather buy a bagel and cream cheese from The Fresh Market and assemble at home to avoid this place. But everything else about the place makes the overall experience miserable. I am not even talking about dining in. The act of just ordering a bagel to go is equally troublesome. The owner comes off as a total a$$. He is rude, univiting, and looks like every act of managing a restaurant is a burden. Would it kill him to smile? It’s not just the customers he is cold too; he interacts with staff like he is herding cats. The prices are about $1-$2 high. The place is disorganized and chaotic. The cups are a joke- they have upgraded from styrofoam to paper-thin plastic (super!). It amazes me this place is crowded ever. My prediction is that the place will be sold by the end of 2011 to new owners and not a minute too soon. The volume clearly shows there is a need for a bagel place in the Quarry and people still show up despite the overpriced, uninviting atmosphere.
Absolute Best Bagels in Baltimore!!!!. My family and I have been going to Quarry Bagel at least once a week since they opened. The bagels are out of this world amazing! I am also a huge fan of their veggie sandwhich which consists of avocado, hummus and various veggies on deliciously fresh bread. I have brought many friends here and everyone has loved it. I can not emphasize enough how delicious the bagels are.My friends and family have ordered various meat dishes which they have also enjoyed. The atmosphere is pleasant and relaxing. My only complaint is that there is not always enough seating around lunch time (wish the place was a little bigger). However, there is a nice outdoor dining area when weather permits. Try the bagels – you will not be dissapointed (coming froma very picky bagel fan).
Worse Ever. Way too expensive. Owner is rude. Can’t blame the kids that work there. For a bagel with Cream cheese and ONE slice of tomato the total cost was $3.45, this did not include a coffee or anything else. No attempt at preparation, they just throw a patty of cream cheese on the bagel and throw it at you, and you have a 50% chance of having it toasted even if you ask. FYI this is my first ever internet review of anything, that is how wronged I feel.
We Tried to Try it. Today after my MRI next door, we decided to try the Quarry Bagel Cafe.We walked in, I asked the guy do we sit to get waited on, he said yes.then he comes over and says, you have to order up here and then I bring you the food.So we get up to go the counter and the guy says, you might want to sit before you lose your table… I was so confused we just walked out!
