Have been here twice now, both with big groups. Service is excellent, food is always outstanding. The crab cakes are fantastic, as is the shrimp and grits. We honestly haven’t had a bad dish here. The only unusual part might be all of the televisions that are in some ancillary rooms. It’s hard to have a nice upscale dinner, when they have sports blaring on bright big screen TVs in the dining rooms. I told them to turn it off in our room, and they did. It was a much better experience after that!
We’ll never come back!. We went to Harryman House Grill with our whole family to celebrate Fathers day, and we did not have a great experience. Our waitress was very clumsy. While serving, she dropped knives, then she dropped sauce on the floor – she had to clean it and our bags! I still have stains on my shoes. Later she dropped a glass full of water with ice on the table, and our table placemats stayed wet until the end of the dinner. The appetizers, Eggplant Fries and a Cheese Plate, were tasteless. The Smoked Salmon Short Stack was not as good as we expected. The Mushroom and Barley Soup, Roasted Half Chicken and Asian Salmon were great, but the Filet Mignon was less than average. A steak which we ordered medium rare tasted like a shoe sole- not only it was impossible to chew on, but we couldnt even cut through it. We had to send it back. The Maple Braised Short Ribs were impossible to eat – they consisted of pure fat, no meat. This dish costs $21?! Finally, when the dessert espresso arrived, it was served in a mug. We had had such a terrible experience that we will never come back again. We used to like the place, but not any more.

Highly recommend. Very quaint place with great food and service. Crab dip app is excellent.
We went there for dinner and there was a loud party of drunk women. They have hardwood floors and the noise from the drunk women was so bad we couldn’t hear each other. We asked about moving to a different room and they were very rude so we left.
Wtf. I had the misfortune of eating (not doning) at the Harryman House Grille last Tuesday. The food was awful. The crabcakes had shredded crab in them. The black bean soup was served with a side of combined sour cream, cheddar cheese and onions. I asked the waiter why they weren’t served separately for those who had individual preferences, and was told that there was inadequate room on the tables to offer the sides separately .The highlight of the evening was the mediocre service, and the privilage of paying $11.50 for a Grey Goose & soda.
I enjoy the atmosphere and food. Great place to eat. Great staff. The food is never boring, new menus according to the seasons. Reservations are easy. The front desk is very friendly. Special occasion? They will make the occasion great.Bob
