Great place for dinner. Katana is definitely one of the better sushi options in Howard County. The food is consistently good and the fish is fresh. They offer a wide selection of Japanese / sushi dishes both traditional and modernized, and they also have a selection of other pan asian dishes. The service is inviting/friendly/efficient. The atmosphere has a nice layout and decor, full bar seating. Overall, it is a great option for sushi in the neighborhood, whether dining in or out.
Had sushi from here last night, and had a disappointing experience. First my family and I have eaten here before and typically like there food. The sexy jalapeo appetizer is good,but their raw fish was poor. In the past, with other sushi places, when nigiri sushi has pieces of huge fish that doesn’t fit in your mouth, they’re trying to get rid of it. This was the case last night. So gagging on fish that is questionable in freshness makes for a bad sushi experience. I’ll probably go back but there needs to be a harder look at the product they are putting on the table. Plus one of the sashimi pieces was still frozen in the center, sign of an amatur sushi chef all around.
