Bland Ribs and Pulled Pork. If you like bland tasting pork ribs and pulled pork, come to Rocklands in Rockville. Ribs are meaty, but didn’t fall off the bone and all you taste is smoke, same goes for the pull pork; just smokey. What ever happen to seasonings such as (cumin, paprika, dry mustard, brown sugar, and maybe a touch of red pepper powder, etc.)?As for the BBQ sauce, which there was only one flavor…it was infused with lots of vinegar. Urban BBQ was better for me, though seriously I’ve made better ribs and pulled pork myself using a dry rub recipe I found off the http://www.foodnetwork.com website. I believe it was Emeril Lagasse’s recipe.

Inconsistent Quality, Flavor, & Portions. Family ate dinner at Rocklands and the brisket and pulled pork tasted like leftovers. Pulled chicken was OK but the baby back ribs were very tasty and fresh and the meat fell right off the bone. Sausage was dried up and also tasted like it was reheated several times. Ordered several 3-meat platters and a rack of ribs and the portions were small and one platter looked like it was missing some meat. Brisket was thin as a slice of bacon and a little tough to chew and the pulled pork was very dry. Mashed potatoes were very good, but the other sides weren’t as tasty. House barbecue sauce is pretty good. My family is from Texas and we’ve eaten at lots of barbecue restaurants around the country. Overall the Quality of the Service was very good and pleasant, but the quality of the food needs much improvement before
I had been a loyal customer for awhile. But never again. Ribs tasted boiled, no BBQ taste, chicken was dry and tasteless, beans were barely warm. If I weren’t busy at home, it all would have been returned. As it was, most of it went in the trash, it was horrible!! Urban BBQ here I come!
