From the taste of it, I think this might be 'authentic' Japanese. I have never been to Japan, so cannot vouch for that. I give ratings based on my per…

For the price it was just ok. Average and limited menu. However it was busy and seemed to be filled with regulars so I may need to go back and find out what the house specialty is. Very small place.
I love Chirashi here the most
Authentic Japanese in Rockville. I have been looking for some real Japanese food outside of Teppanyaki and Sushi, like the grub you can get in the East Village, or a street corner in Osakathis place was excellent, I had Takoyaki which I previously only found in NYC, and Unagi Donburi, very very tastyThey also had a decent selection of Sake which I will have to try next time
I have lived right down the street from Temari Cafe for three years and was put off by the less than glamorous location. Today my partner and I decided to give it a try. Oh my god, I can’t believe that I waited this long! I had the pork sauted in Ginger sauce with miso soup and rice. All of which were amazing! Also probably some of the best dumplings around. Now that I know about this place I will most definitely be frequenting it for authentic Japanese cuisine.
Oiishi. This is one of the best places to get authentic Japanese food in the Baltimore-Washington metro region. They’re Japanese owned, unlike most chain-Japanese restaurants that are Korean or Chinese owned. The restaurant is very, very small, so you may have to wait if their is a rush of patrons. But everything is amazing. We’ve had everything from the sushi, to the katsu and the ramen. Added bonus, they have a Japanese market upstairs, which has everything you can think of.
The katsu curry rice is my favorite. Sometimes the wait is long because they have limited table space but it’s worth it. They have excellent ramen noodles and good desserts.
A NO, NO. I will never eat at this place, they have the worse customer service. After waiting for about 45 minutes for a table, I was bumped off when an oriental couple arrived. I complaint to the hostess she said the the owner was the boss and she wanted the oriental couple sat first.
