This was the worst experience with a bakery I have ever. My order was nothing what I wanted and they offered nothing to make a dissatisfied customer happy. The cupcakes were very poorly made and were tasteless. I will never return.
Worst cake ever!. I found this place online. I was working out of town and had to make the arrangements from afar. Now I am regretting it.The cake I had them made was the absolute worst that I have ever had!!! The cake was flat and the icing tasted like straight Crisco!!! Fifteen people attempted to eat that cake and I had to sit embarrassed that the cake I ordered looked and tasted worse that the cake that another table had brought and bought at Wal-Mart!!!! I am very disappointed that I wasted $30.00 and ruined a 16 year olds party. You can’t exactly re-live that moment.
Nothing to Celebrate. I’ve made the mistake of ordering several cakes from Cakes by David thinking the cake before was just a fluke. I assure you there’s no fluke–the cakes are just bad.Each one has been dry and tasteless and seriously overpriced.If Classic Cakes can’t accommodate you, you’ll have better luck with a cake from Giant.
Cakeless in PA. We are from out of town but wanted an awesome birthday cake delivered for my father’s 80th birthday. Called and spoke with Barbara at Cakes by David but had a bad phone reception so ordered the cake through email. Barbara responded with the incorrect date and a higher price than originally quoted on the phone. Nothing about the order had changed! She then ignored my request to place the order and finally made up a story about having a large wedding booked which supposedly conflicted. Problem is she still didn’t have the event date correct (which was stated twice in emails) and the wedding they were claiming the reason she couldn’t accomodate our order was on a Tuesday! Small business so if there is a problem no one will help you. BEWARE – GET EVERYTHING IN WRITING! It doesn’t matter how good the cakes are if they cannot get it there!
