Mamason’s is a cheap, convenient Chinese carryout place near my house. I decided to order their dinner special, which included an entree, egg roll, and fried rice for $7.50. I got the kung pao shrimp, which used jumbo shrimp. The food itself was mediocre. The rice looked more like Spanish rice and didn’t have eggs or vegetables in it. The egg roll was okay, but it lacks much filling. The sauce for the shrimp was very thick and didn’t taste fresh. I really had a hard time finishing the food. The only compliment I can give was that the food was prepared fast. That makes me think that everything was made beforehand.

Best out of 4 or 5 in the area. This is the one I always go to since moving to this area. I first tried all of the ones in the area about 4 of them, I think one went out of business but I’m not sure. Anyway, the food isn’t bad, good portions, same price as all the other ones, free egg roll or soda with min. $15 purchase. What I really thank them for is in the horrible Winter storm of Feb ’10 they were open during ALL of it! Like most chinese restaurants open during holidays and until 11pm upto 12am. No seating, carry out or delivery, next to CVSTheir steak and cheese and fish platters are really good too.
