Very Good!. The patio is wonderful on a summer night, do bring bug spray though. The service is consistently awesome. Last time we had Tammy and she was simply the best! They have a really good selection of draft beer and mixed drinks. The pan seared scallops on the tapas menu is delicious. The spring fling turkey burger is on point! Really very good all together!

Consistently hit or miss. There’s not a lot of dining options in historic Sykesville, and Beck’s is consistently hit or miss. Some menu items are good, some are terrible and some items that can be good one night are bad the next. I ordered their buffalo burger cooked medium. Instead I got something that was the texture of shoe leather. My sister ordered the elk burger medium well and got a perfectly cooked, juicy burger. On another occassion, she ordered their Beck’s Burger also medium well and ended up with raw meat in the middle of the burger. On another day, I ordered guacamole with my quesadilla and was charged extra for it but it came with no guac. However, I have had their rockfish special stuffed with crabmeat and it was fantastic. I also like several of their salads. Basically, be prepared to be disappointed and yet pleasantly surprised when they get it right.

Small Town Big Box. If you are used to big box restaurants this place will not disappoint you. They are clearly busy based on the filled bar area, the indifferent hostess and the Outback style beepers. However, if you want food with any flavor stay away. Recently, the wild boar chili tasted like Dinty Moore’s. The Thanksgiving turkey burger had the worst of your Grandma’s dry over saged stuffing covering a turkey patty that seemed to have been frozen until minutes before. The bacon wrapped bratwurst was flavorless. Johnsonville would have been better not to mention one of the best brat makers in the US is Binkerts only 45 minutes away. They’ve gone Gastropub by adding fancy names to some menu items and offering some good craft beers, but they don’t bother to offer a glass for said beers. If you are happy with big box food in a local place, this is the place for you. However, don’t travel out of your way.

Satisfying. Every meal that I have had here has been great! I was really impressed with the Crab Cake dinner. Lot’s of lump crabmeat w/minimal filler and spiced just right. Try with the loaded mashed potaoes/a neccesary indulgence! Yum

Less is more. Beck’s is exactly the sort of place we need less of in this area. Smoky and dirty with lousy bar food served to your table by a waitress with a bad attitude. We tasted the food, paid and left without eating a second bite. Its a hangover from an earlier time in Sykesville (like the Harvest Inn) that I’d rather give way to more interesting venues

THE best cream of crab soup ever. Really good food. Not too expensive. Excellent cheesesteak.
