Food is awful!!!. Around 5-6 years ago something changed and food (Corned beef and cabbage) that used to be flavorful and tasty, now is completely washed out of taste. I can’t say that it tasted bad, it didn’t have any taste at all. Unfortunately Fish and chips was a different story. Fish tasted funny and chips must have been from leftovers at least from a previous day and were re-fried. They were very dark, floppy, greasy and tasted terrible. Very disappointing experience. I will never come back to this pub again. I tried to given them a chance but it proved to be a total failure.

I don’t understand the negative reviews. This place has some of the friendliest service, and great food to go with it. By far NY favorite is the chopped salad with chicken, but the Sheppard’s pie is a VERY close second!! Great drinks and always a good time, I would absolutely recommend this restaurant.
Better Irish Other Places. I went here for a dinner meeting about a couple of weeks ago. The service was good, the food HORRIBLE and overpriced!!! The waiter brought out brown bread, which is always a favorite of mine, but this stuff was chewy and very sweet. It was also served with honey butter, again very sweet. The cream of crab might have had some crab shreds in it, but it tasted more like very thick chicken cream soup and it was bland. However, I did find some pieces of shell in mine. I decided to order the Irish stew which comes in a bread bowl. The bread was OK, but the stew was a white, floury paste with a hint of meat and some orange bits that I think was supposed to be carrot. I decided at that point I was not hungry anymore and had the waiter remove it. Others at our table did eat their dinners, but most of us agreed we would not waste our time and money at this place in the future. I am not sure what others see in this place other than the drinks. The bar was busy, but the dining room was not. Not surprised.
Amazing food!!. Amazing Lamb stew, Bangers and Mash with luscious demiglase, and Shepard’s Pie…need I say more? Fabulous tasting food. Yummy delicate sauces. Huge portions. Good ambiance. Outdoor eating area. Decent service, but could use some help and more customer service training. Big bar in the middle of the restaurant with ample seating. Private alcoves for a couple or a group! Ample parking. Very popular with the locals!!Be aware that the food coming from the kitchen is rarely consistent and sometimes even cold, but if you get just the right cook when he is fresh and not overloaded with tickets yet, the food is amazing. Now if you could just find that waiter…
Lousy Lunch. Just had one of the worst lunches ever. First of all, you cannot get a cup of soup at the Stil. You have to get a bowl. That would have been ok except their Maryland crab soup hap almost evidence that a crab had ever been near it. That would have been ok if it had at least been a good vegetable soup. But this stuff had a very strong acidy tomato taste with no sign of Old Bay or anything else from the bay. My friend called it too spicy and left two thirds of his uneaten as well.Now for the Irish stew. Again, very little lamb in evidence in a white sauce that had an odd sour taste in it. As if one of the vegetables had been soaked in vinegar. Very odd. Our waitress seemed to engage in all of her transactions with us while she was on the run. Even brought the check before asking if we would like any coffee or desert. Don’t think I’ll be rushing back to the Stil any time soon.
Been here a few times and always enjoy myself. They have local wine & great selection of beer. Oh & food isn’t to bad either.
